Upon arrival at the polling station, Vader refused to remove his mask, which led to a row with the officer who was handing out the ballot papers.
"Here is my face on the passport. Where does the law say that I have to take off my mask?" he insisted, but his pleas fell on deaf ears.
He left the polling station unable to vote but promising that it did not mean his "empire will not win."
Meanwhile, Ukraine's prime minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk called the vote the "first tremendous and crucial step" to make Ukrainian politics more clear and accountable as he voted with his family.
Ex-Boxing champion Vitali Klitschko, Mayor of Kiev and Petro Poroshenko bloc candidate, also cast his ballot alongside his wife in another polling station in the capital.
