AI’s Next Frontier Is Physical As Humanoid Robots Begin March On Assembly Lines And Beyond

Agree, but my guess as stated above will be $50k, plus $3k a year for maintinence and software. Maybe BJ101 is the first full package but BJ104 will really ahem, blow you mind.

But very soon after will come the brain chips like Isaac Asimov's "feelies". Procreation will be grown for robotic maintinence. It isn't that I think this will all be painless or all good. Free will is going to go nearly away.

Indeed. I like Ben at Spaceweathernews.

His odds of surviving the major power outage is better than most, no telling if the earth crust pushes up and his little village is annihalated. If so, then there is planting with a couple year cloud cover. Hunting amid several hundred nearby survivors. Think I will stay put.

Say $50k a year for a domestic robot, $3k a uear maintinence and uploads.

Loads the dishwasher, vacuums floors, cleans the bathroom. Loads laundry. Can cook simple meals. Blows you.

Women, your value is going lower than mens labor, faster.

Better learn the old saying of keeping your mens belly full and the balls empty. Sorry to say it so crudely but it is going there fast. Good riddance to the nastiness of political weaponizing of women. That isn't new for bad or worse in history.

Florida Freeze Batters Citrus Belt, Inflicts “Significant Damage” To Central Orange Groves

Freidrich - Good news at first glance.

As an aside but important. Orange peels make great media for antibiotics. Need silver cylinders for that. The non-pattented recipe from the 1940's exists across many colleges if America needs to make their own again.

The Boomcession: Why Americans Hate What Looks Like An Economic Boom

Energy costs going down helps. Mid-Atlantic an exception. Food, down IF you search for sales that means going to a couple stores to shop for deals.

Housing, flat in many states, some states prices and rent declining.

I am in Florida, condo prices going down big time but insurance is sticky as are condo or HOA dues. Too much deffered maintinance.

In my area of south central Florida prices up this year by about 3%. Lot of new homes being built. It helps Amtrak has a station going to new Wall Street, Miami.

In my area, if your a tradesman, your doing well but other than that wage jobs don't pay much. Rich, the small upper middle class, then poor.

Yep, my neighbor owns groves on three sides of my land. He isn't happy about the freeze early AM tomorrow.

Multiple Polls Show Majority Of Americans Want All Illegals Deported

Nothing - As Milton Freidman said, a country can afford unlimited immigration but not a welfare state at the same time.

The 1860s to 1920's was unlimited immigration, but you got nothing from the government.

Policy of unlimited immigration AND a welfare state is a strategy to destroy the country and culture. The lie told was 'hey we will get an eternal peace dividend but yeah, so sorry for the citizens in between that now can barely afford to work for hamburger...'

Getting rich made this an easy lie to swallow for politicians. The other disigeneuous part was 'hey, Americans can just invest in the stock market as we ship productivity east.'

Problem is as wages stagnated, less than 1/3 could afford to do so or had an employer co-sponsored 401k plan. My wife had one, returns averaged 4% per year. Not very good, at all.

Last Look At Snowfall Models As ‘Snow Apocalypse’ Begins

I remember the blizzard of '78. I grew up in NH near the coast. We lost power for a few days. We did have a coal stove. The cast iron top would get so hot it turned orange. The cars were buried. You ate what you had in the pantry and fridge. All stores closed. We put the cold food out on our back entranceway. Lots of peanut butter sandwiches!

Made a mint shoveling the neighbors out. At 8 years old, it was a blast. Snow hills that lasted for weeks to make forts out of. Endless great sledding. No school for a week.

Need To Escape Socialism? Come To Florida!

No. It is concealed carry. The state eliminated the permitting.

Need To Escape Socialism? Come To Florida!

The condo market took a real beating in SW Florida. I lived in Fort Myers. Hurricane Ian hit our place head on.

Built a place on an old grove in south central Florida. 2 hours south of Orlando.

I get 9 more years of ag exemption on property taxes. $1100 a year on 5 acres. $300 of that is trash pickup.

You get the snowbirds who many are rude but not all. This time of year watch the roads with them, whoa nelly! Many of the people are tradesmen. Good old boys club. Demand has stayed strong for years and increasing. Building a house was a real bitch.

Then you have a good number of homeless. There is quite a few petty crimes here.

The good parts of living here far outweigh the bad.

Carbon - Yep. Want pallets of dollars or Yuan in South America?

The real tug of war is a currency war. Remember first is trade war, then currency war then world war.

Because I understand a business model does not mean I am bias against civilians around the world.

When elephants dance, ants get trampled. I am not an elephant so... have to hedge best as I can.

Woot - I hope you are actually correct. However, hope isn't a survival strategy so hence, I hedge.

It may not be quite enough but chance favors the prepared. I admit, I did steal that last saying from a former ZH poster.

Central banking, reserve currency. Triffin's dilema. Continue to partake or try to tweak the model? Its a real bitch and the ordinary guy gets it in chute. Just like WW1, WW2...

Swapping flags is what the article states happened. Not a new tactic during hostile times or even basic pirate tactics.

The vessel was reflagged by permit to avoid sanctions. This wasn't a 'russian ship' on simple analysis of common viewpoint or sense

If you posit about fairness of sanctions or if the reporting is fully accurate, fair enough -  I am just stating what the article said.

Even Google’s Founders Have Had Enough Of California, And Are Saying Adios

Naomi Wolf wrote a book about what the East Germans did prior to the fall of the Soviets. They fled.

She wrote when interviewing them they showed zero remorse. No surprise. Godless heathens.

No, the article stated they personally are going to live in Miami. Where their shell corps are temporarily domiciled is far less important than which state they personally live in and  hence influence Tallahassee (Florida) politics.
