The department said it will hold a news conference at 4 p.m. on Jan. 27.
Arivaca is a popular border crossing and the ranching community has become a flashpoint for controversy amid the Trump administration's crackdown on immigration.
A humanitarian group that provides water and medical aid for immigrants accused border agents in December of entering a camp without a warrant and taking three immigrants into custody. Rep Adelita Grijalva condemned the action, saying the camp has "existed for decades to keep people from dying in the desert."
The shooting comes after federal immigration agents shot and killed two U.S. citizens during raids and protests in Minnesota. Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU was shot multiple times in the street on Jan. 24 as he attempted to film agents. Renee Good was shot multiple times in her car on Jan. 7.
Federal authorities said Pretti and Good posed threats to agents, although cell phone videos of both incidents appeared to contradict those claims.
Yep. About the same time another LEO shooting with an illegal in Tucson under the I-10 & Speedway. Car crash & area blocked off. Hell of a traffic jam.
When a statement (C-130 aircraft) and then the accompanying photo is of a C5 iteration - gives one pause as to the accuracy of reporting in general. What's new?
Pro Tip: C-130s are 4 engine prop. C-5s have T tails and jets.
It's impressive to me the organization and execution timing of stuff with Trumps staff. Yeah - 40 years younger I'd be pissed as well. FDR was Pres. when I was born.
Seems to me Trump is taking a shot at his legacy (duh) & WTF do I know. But his drive to make things happen that will impact well into the future - right or wrong. Except for his stance on Israel I'll give him a shot at his vision of greatness. And would like to hang around long enough to see the outcome. At least he's actually taking the shot while congress DState & MIC continue to rip us off.

Been going on for a long time.
Some grumbling about it back in the 40s & 50s that I recall.
Nothing happened then - the few that get picked off now will be just the tip.
Where does the line form up?

I actually listened to one of his first speeches (without a teleprompter) when he announced his run. BS word salad. Never listened to him again.
Pam, Ya gotta go.

and/or FOAD.
Yeah - it's the sleepers and our infrastructure vulnerability that concerns me the most.
Potassium Iodide (vs iodine) is what I have had on hand along with the rest rotated since around '80.
Not the entire city ... just on the route that Xi would travel thru & see.
Yep. Loved him and his leadership till that.
And a supply of Potassium Iodate (KI03) and/or Potassium Iodine (KI) if you do survive and want a shot and continuing to do so.
Yeah!
And quit talking about it - just fu*king do it !
Yawn.
I hope they eventually win.
Some reports say he first honked his horn repetitively and was ignored. When his car was beat on he put his foot down.
Who knows what really happened to set him off?
From what I've seen of his accomplishments - his #1 most amazing is how he is able to vet specialists to handle the tasks. Engineers for example.
