Biography

Karim started in fixed income sales for Tokai Bank London setting up and managing the Middle East client desk. He then became the bank's proprietary equity derivative trader. This was followed by a move to AMRO Bank Hong Kong as head of equity derivative trading before moving to Sun Hung Kai Asset Management where he set up and managed the SHK Asian Warrant Fund. He was also responsible for the fixed income investments of the SHK Provident Fund. He was subsequently employed by Lemanik SA Switzerland as a fund manager before moving to Generale Bank Belgium as head of Global Emerging Markets. Whilst at Generale he set up Grand Generale Asia Ltd. in Hong Kong, a joint venture between Guangdong Development Bank and Generale Bank where he acted as Chief Investment Officer. He was solely responsible for both the Interselex New Asia and Japan funds with assets in excess of $500mn. He also set up the Belgian Bank Global Fund. Karim recently joined TFF ASIA as Director in charge of investments and head of fundamental research.
