I worked as a newspaper reporter and wrote as many damning stores as I could dig up. My last news bosses sold out in 05 after acquiring too much debt, and feeling the pressure from home developers they were fighting. It was obvious at the time that there was no future in journalism, home prices were going up 30k in some months, so it also was obvious to me the economy would collapse.
I changed careers and I am Vice President of sales at consumer products company.
