Meh ! He will be back as soon as the indexes go up 50 bips telling us how the pullback was healthy and that the market will continue to rally until it reaches infinity+some...
Indeed. If he was actually legitimate and dumb enough to trade the positions he talked about then he's bleeding out of all orifices right now and will be too traumatized to play any bounce that might occur.
Oh, and the other reason.... Because there are people like THIS (on ZH) out in the world. I didn't know that, until I started looking. The fact that people out here know this stuff gives me hope. If this didn't exist, I'd have voted "NO", but no one would have asked..... yada yada.
You can't change anything until you know something's wrong. This website does a GREAT service. It has also increased my optimism, paradoxically.
I'm a "yes" too for a balance of reasons, relativity being the biggest.
think we're in for much worse before it gets better.
But, we are the reserve currency and the petrodollar. That is not radically changing soon no matter what people speculate, in my opinion.
True, our capital markets are currently highjacked by frauds and liars. Mark-to-market, our financiers are bankrupt.
But, it's in our nature to dispose of rot and find solutions. We're puritans at our root too which has pluses and minuses. In terms of banks, we have a long tradition of fighting them and even a tradition of winning. We just need to re-learn it. Jefferson, Jackson, etc.. I'm not sure about the rest of the world's ability to challenge their creditor class, to be honest.
We're the reserve petrodollar currency because we suck down more crude oil than a crack whore on Saturday night turning trannie tricks.
Is this the most addicted nation or what? Currently the Chinese smoke more cigaretts than we do, but nobody else can beat our use of and variety of illegal/legal intoxicants.
I believe there will be pockets of humanity adhering to the main precepts of The Constitution in this land. But it will be a long time until we re-contain the traditional American territory with laws that protect natural rights.
We have a long road ahead. Those that would destroy innocent life will be everpresent:
Im sorry man, i apologize. Didn't see your comment so i wrote mine [warning: comment contains drivel and stupidity]. I know you are not Harry Wanker or HarryWanker-esque.
Don't apologize. All is cool. Question? What ever happened to London Banker? This individual used to post on ZH old site. I used to get goosebumps when reading his/her posts. Very smart bloke.
He still posts on occasion, but he got a new gig and he is pretty high up the food chain right now so he has to be extra careful and not post his insights on some "fringe conspiratorial blogsite".
Capital markets don't need any form of government (only agreement by the participants), so anarchy doesn't correlate. The overwhelming fear of anarchy (without rule, i.e. no government) is very likely a symptom of our current failures. Do you think the first pilgrim off the boat was this fearful about the lack of government he expected?
As to the poll - of course we don't have faith, that's why we're here. Wonder what the results would be on CNBC?
Would you like me to create the perfect cat product for the store? I will do it just for you and the benefit of ZH! Or how about a smoke out of Wanger--with Marla from FC blowing smoke over him? Send me the Wangerish image through the Zazzle store...or here at howardbeale72 at gmail dot com. I have so many projects going but this could be so much fun! Thanks!
Where to start... where to start... from Bernankes image on plastic fire hydrants and dog shit pick-up bags for our canine friends... to kitty litter made from "Maiden Lane" asset certificates... I just would not know where to begin...
Personally I could use some nifty new ZH 2012 worry beads... my old ones have worn out already...
Excellent idea for a poll. I was the first vote, bet it will still stay 100% (course there is always a contrarian). Okay, bet it will stay over 90% NO!
You know, I haven't hawked the ZH fundaiser store today! funny, when I put out the message, people come and buy. When I don't post--it's dead. Check out some great anger management items and lots more fun items!

Naaah. After the statutory market rape he received on Thursday I'm sure he's still curled up in the fetal position, crying into his pillow.
Indeed. If he was actually legitimate and dumb enough to trade the positions he talked about then he's bleeding out of all orifices right now and will be too traumatized to play any bounce that might occur.
I often think he is Steve Lies-man. The CFR rhetoric speaks in volumes.
He was exposed as a Zero Hedge troll on MW. We kept paging him. Just dead air was heard on the blogosphere.
No Cheeky. I'm not a Harry Wanker fan. We are just creative enough to figure out our solution to this crisis.

BTW, I always find your posts insightful. Thank you.

Well, I voted "no" and yet for similar reasons.
I hope you are right that it's in our nature to root this rot out. I do not have a lot of confidence in that.
And I have a kid having just started making it on her own. If/when she gets married, I know who to give my gold and guns to...

Oh thanks for the compliment.

Understandable. Again, a very sharp individual. When TSHTF, we need his expertise in stepping up to the plate. Winks
I voted 'Yes'. Never underestimate an American. Waking a sleeping dog can cause instant death.
I have capital and I think there will be a market, it will just get really ugly. Really, really ugly.
But complete collapse? No. Anarchy - no. National emergencies in certain bankrupt areas, yes.

...hm...define 'capital markets'. Is there any capital? Are there markets?
Nevermind, I think I have my answer.
Let me qualify my vote on the off chance a simple Yes or No is not clear.
HELL NO!
Pete
Is this a trick question?
Heh my thoughts exactly.
He's just trying to smoke out Harry Wanger!

All proceeds go to ZH!
the return on the yes options are extremely attractive... and I hear JPM will make it whole...backed by AIG of course
Layman's translation: "Do you believe in the end of the world as we know it?"
HarryWanger and his pals would call this poll a "contrarian signal".
The wangster is in a market dive induced coma.Or he cannot figure out what to say after proving to be so epic a FAIL.
Only 93%.Is the other 7% the right amount to correlate to the normal incidence of mental illness in the population?Just wondering....
