Old Companies, New Investments

Apparently the old adage of the "Military Industrial Complex" is the new prime investment strategy.  Why buy into all those old GS cliches when you can just settle for the new war mongering way of things.  New names for evil sure does make the evil seem a bit more rosy doesn't it: 

Blackwater Worldwide's legal woes haven't dimmed the company's prospects in Afghanistan, where it's a contender to be a key part of President Barack Obama's strategy for stabilizing the country.

Now called Xe Services, the company is in the running for a Pentagon contract potentially worth $1 billion to train Afghanistan's troubled national police force. Xe has been shifting to training, aviation and logistics work after its security guards were accused of killing unarmed Iraqi civilians more than two years ago.

New name or not this company is sure to get some very tasty deals for the next few years. 

In 2009 alone, Xe projected total revenues at $669 million, the documents state, and three-quarters of the total stems from federal contracts to support U.S. troops in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Now of course this is chump change for our little bankster friends but it is a nice little guarantee of our continued warmongering so long as we can find anyone to finance our playtime overseas.  That or we can always cook the books.  What is really bothersome however is the fact that our totalitarian state has admitted that though we have millions of people policing our every move and collecting intelligence on all of us they still don't have enough.  Looks like they won't be happy until they can find out everything about everyone at ALL TIMES: 

Obama is ramping up efforts to expand and improve the Afghan army and national police into a force able to handle the country's security burden so U.S. troops can begin withdrawing in July 2011. The private sector's help is needed because the U.S. doesn't have a deep enough pool of trainers and mentors with law enforcement experience.
