Under Pressure "From Multiple Sides": Anthropic Opens Talks With NYC Comptroller For IPO Pause
It has been a rough week for the biggest IPO in history.
On Wednesday, Anthropic opened its books to Wall Street and revealed that growth is hitting the brakes. On Thursday, investors who sat through the pitch started talking about a valuation of around $1.5 trillion, roughly $500 billion below the $2 trillion that had been penciled in for November. And on the same day, New York City's top pension official asked the company to stop the IPO altogether.
