Elon is Ready to Fight Back
On November 4th, 2026, the day after a decisive Democratic sweep of the midterms, Elon Musk made clear he is not retreating. Democrats regain control of both the House and Senate in a blue wave that also flipped key Texas races, including James Talarico’s victory over Ken Paxton for Senate and Gina Hinojosa’s defeat of Greg Abbot for Governor. Musk has poured a record sum, reported between roughly $450 million and $475 million, into Republican efforts through his America PAC and other groups, making him the largest individual donor of the cycle. Tesla and SpaceX shares fell sharply in early trading as the election results settled, but investors scooped up shares as though it were a sale day in the market. Technically, both TSLA and SPCX look strong, especially after Tesla’s downside gap filled. Point to note: Traders look at gaps as reversal points so once the price has filled a downside gap, traders tend to rally the stock from the fill point 80% of the time.

Elon is ready for what we would expect to see from the Democrats who have publicly targeted him before the midterms. His response on X mixed sarcasm with a familiar combative edge. “Guess my election-interfering space lasers didn’t work this time 🤷♂️” he posted, later adding that “Data centers in space looking pretty appealing right now.” The laser line nodded at old conspiracy theories about Starlink: the data-center remark pointed to local opposition that helped cost Republicans the Texas governorship.
For now, the world’s richest man has signaled he intends to treat any new scrutiny the same way he has treated past ones: as a fight he is prepared to answer. One thing is obvious, in that investors are fully behind Musk, and the price action clearly proves that.
