Why the Job Market will NOT recover anytime soon

Hello Zero Hedge community,

If my recent experience (the last 10 years) onsite working for Fortune 100 companies as a consultant is more than anecdotal than we are truly fucked.

On my last consultanting gig I worked on replacing a mobility solution written by off-shore IT vendor (very large, India) for a very very large chip and soda company (based out of a northeastern state).

This company has several large offices in North Texas and I happened to work in their IT building. This building contained over 2000 employees. Of the 2000, I would conservatively guess that at least 1600 were H1B visa workers from India. Mind you, the CEO is also Native Indian and when she took over in 2006 I watched all of the domestic staff get laid-off indiscriminately as Cognizant, Wipro and other vendors piled in the bodies. Of course quality dropped signficantly and costs sky-rocketed and there was a great deal of turmoil. While on site I once received an email where the CEO announced that "white males are now a minority and should be treated with sensitivity."

You might say, "I don't care, just I.T."

Well after I quit a few years ago to start my own company I have been rehired on contingency basis to do work for the main HQ in North Texas of one of the company's business units. This unit is an order of magnitude larger than the I.T. unit. Everytime I visit I hear of more lay-offs and more Indian replacements. I would guess now close to 50% of the once American Staff is now Indian. Mind you, this isn't the I.T. group and these are jobs that don't require the "specialized skills" so frequently cited by the apologists and buffoons driving this agenda.

Anyway, I just thought I would share my recent experience. This off-shoring phenomen is accelerating in late 2011. There is no end in sight and I do not believe that this adminstration cares about the severity of the problem.
