Goldman's always bullish flow trader Scott Rubner likely sighed in relief on Friday when stocks closed sharply higher after the latest powerful short squeeze and bear market rally; in fact, as Rubner notes, the holiday-shortened week was the best Q3 start for the S&P 500 in 42 years - since 1980 - and 9th best start to Q3 since 1900. Then again, even Rubner is loathe to concede that this particular rally likely won't last, and as he admits, "the #1 incoming question to hit my desk week from global wall street “When do I short (actually re-short) the equity market?” - Is it location (price level) or time and when is the short covering bid completed?"
