After Donald Trump stunned the world last night, President Obama, who has constantly bashed Trump saying that his rhetoric and temperament made him “uniquely unqualified” to be his successor, was forced to invite him to the White House tomorrow to begin reviewing transition plans. This should be sufficiently awkward.
“The president invited the president-elect to meet with him at the White House on Thursday, Nov. 10, to update him on the transition planning his team has been working on for nearly a year,” the White House press secretary’s office said in a statement Wednesday.
“Ensuring a smooth transition of power is one of the top priorities the president identified at the beginning of the year and a meeting with the president-elect is the next step."
Of course, overturning Obamacare, often described as Obama's one crowning "achievement," is, at least in part, what ensured a Trump victory last night...so much for preserving that legacy. That said, at least Obama was able to make the call which is more than can be said for Hillary who couldn't even bring herself to address her devastated supporters last night in New York who worked tirelessly for her campaign.
