Mueller Is Investigating Trump For Possible Obstruction Of Justice: Wapo

If Trump wasn't under investigation before for colluding with Russian spies to steal the election from Hillary Clinton, it seems that he may be now for claims that he intentionally obstructed justice by firing FBI Director James Comey just over a month least according to more anonymous sources from the Washington Post which have proven themselves to be slightly less than completely 'accurate' several times in the recent past

According to Wapo, this new revelation marks a "major turning point" in the investigation of the Trump administration and will get underway with interviews of numerous "senior intelligence officials" as early as this week.

The special counsel overseeing the investigation into Russia’s role in the 2016 election is interviewing senior intelligence officials as part of a widening probe that now includes an examination of whether President Trump attempted to obstruct justice, officials said.

The move by Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III to investigate Trump’s own conduct marks a major turning point in the nearly year-old FBI investigation, which until recently focused on Russian meddling during the presidential campaign and on whether there was any coordination between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin. Investigators have also been looking for any evidence of possible financial crimes among Trump associates, officials said.

Five people briefed on the requests, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly, said Daniel Coats, the current director of national intelligence, Adm. Mike Rogers, head of the National Security Agency, and Rogers’ recently departed deputy, Richard Ledgett, agreed to be interviewed by Mueller’s investigators as early as this week. The investigation has been cloaked in secrecy and it’s unclear how many others have been questioned by the FBI.

And, like many of these stories from the past 6 months, the breathless headline from Wapo is followed, some 10 paragraphs into the story, with a slightly more realistic 'hedge' which suggests that the whole story may just another fishing expedition into prompting yet another infuriated response by Trump, which would assure he digs himself into an even deeper hole.  Here is today's 'hedge':

The interviews suggest Mueller sees the attempted obstruction of justice question as more than just a “he said, he said” dispute between the president and the fired FBI director, an official said.

Of course, as we pointed out last week, Senator Jim Risch did a masterful job of dismantled any 'hopes' of an obstruction of justice case when he essentially got Comey himself to admit there was no 'there' there:

Risch: "Boy you nailed this down on page 5 paragraph 3, you put this in quotes, words matter, you wrote down the words so we could all have the words in front of us now.  There are 28 words there that are in quotes and it says, 'I hope', this is the President speaking, 'I hope you can see your way claer to letting this go, to letting Flynn go...I hope you can let this go.'"

"Now those are his exact words, is that correct"

Comey:  "Correct."

Risch:  "And you wrote them here and you put them in quotes?"

Comey:  "Correct."

Risch:  "Thank you for that.  He did not direct you to let it go."

Comey:  "Not in his words, no."

Risch:  "He did not order you to let it go."

Comey:  "Again, those words are not an order."

Risch:  "He said 'I hope'.  Now, like me you probably did 100's of cases, maybe 1,000s of cases charging people with criminal offenses.  And, of course, you have knowlege of the 1,000s of cases out there where people have been charged.  Do you know of any case where a person has been charged for obstruction of justice, for that matter of any other criminal offense,  where they said or thought they hoped for an outcome?"

Comey:  "I don't know well enough to answer.  And the reason I keep saying 'his words' is I took it as a direction..."

Risch:  "You may have taken it as a direction but that is not what he said.  He said, 'I hope.'  You don't know of anyone who has ever been charged for hoping something, is that a fair statement?"

Comey:  "I don't as I sit here."

So, to summarize, for anyone who has managed to ignore all the mass hysteria of the past 6 months, the intelligence community basically forced Trump's hand by slowly leaking out damaging innuendos and accusations over the past several months, all while refusing to confirm that he, himself, was never actually under investigation.  In the end, those damaging leaks, combined with Comey's refusal to confirm publicly that Trump was not under investigation, resulted in Comey's sudden dismissal on May 9th.  And now, even though he was never a target of any investigation, leaks from the intelligence community have forced a situation where Trump may be under investigation by the intelligence community, a rather confounding, if perhaps well-orchestrated, outcome.

in this investigation of russian meddling in u.s. elections, the two questions i want posed to comey are:1, when you were investigating the russian hacking of the dnc emails last summer, how did you know that seth rich was not a russian spy/trump mole when he, a data analyst/manager at the dnc was murdered in a good part of town, nothing taken, between the times the data theft was announced and published, even after julian assange posted a reward?  why not even a cursory check of his computer, phone, associates, etc. after so incendiary an event as his severe beating and double shooting while he was on a phone call (adds to assailant hazard) and even later when wikileaks singles him out for concern in an unprecedented fashion?2. in this investigation of the first critical email theft that revealed clinton and wasserman-shultz to be conspiring to use the dnc to prevent sanders from obtaining the nomination, published by guccifer 2.0 and wikileaks, which cost wasserman-schultz her job, why did the fbi never directly examine the most important evidence in the case: the data on the dnc computers, data servers, etc.?  what is the protocol for allowing the subject of an investigation to "rebuff" the fbi's attempt to obtain evidence and substitute an investigator paid by said subject?huh comey?  explain those two points please.  mr. "no zionists in 9-11, not a one" mueller how about getting a couple of answers to these points or maybe just let's talk some more about what the meaning of the word "hope" is.

OT: One for the "you won't find this in western MSM" file

The Minsk peace process for resolving the east Ukraine crisis was negotiated and agreed on a couple of years back. One of the agreed terms was the removal of all foreign troops from Ukraine (all non-existent supposed 9000 Russian troops in Ukraine complied the very moment the document was signed). However NATO is still there in force, supposedly training the neo-Nazis at bases in western Ukraine.

Well, it turns out of a group of 12 Canadian 'expert' trainers was wiped out by the Novorossian forces at the front line in east Ukraine. They were mistaken for a Ukraine intelligence group and dealt with.

The Canadian government reacted by removing restrictions on where Canadian troops could be located. President Poodoh reacted to avoid personal embarassmenrt “After the Spartak incident, the President (Trudeau) did not like having to tell the families of the dead their sons died in a classified NATO operation. These measures are designed to give the military the room to do their job, as they wish.”…

Stupid fuckers dying for the bankster owners. NATO should stick to what it does best, bombing women and children.

"Btw, Trump does not need to fire Mueller...this investigation will lead nowhere."As long as this charade goes on people will be reluctant to deal with the president and his agenda will be stifled.Obstruction is a dead issue. If Mueller insists on flogging it, he must be fired.BTW the Iran-Contra investigation went on for 10 years.Fire Mueller before he gets a chance to make up other garbage.

It is all Trump's fault. He behaves like a buffoon and clown. He still think that the Presidency is like a reality/Miss America show. It is not.I voted for Trump but he must go for the sake of America. Fuck, he does not do anything of any use. He surrounded himself with idiots, thieves, and his GS puppeteers. Look who are his advisers: Ivanka and Kushner. It is hilarious.

i'm with you up until you say he must go.  no he must stay.  he has gotten more done on the most important political task in the world today, the revelation of the (likud/mossad controlled) u.s. deep state and its subsequent destruction than all u.s. administrations going back to lyndon johnson.what's being kept from us? more tax breaks for the rich and the corporations?  further payoffs to big pharma and insurance?  more gutting of environmental regulations?  the emotional contentment of the legacy media?   oh boo hoo.trump is bringing the vermin out of the woodwork to confront.  they look like they are girding for epic battle.  don't summarily fire them.  the (sadly misinformed/uninformed) u.s. electorate doesn't even know what is going on.  this must be drawn out, people must care about this at least as much as who shot j.r., who is getting thrown off the island, who really is america's idol.  dare i say it?  who is going to win the super fucking care about it they must at least have heard about it.  until 95% of them know who seth rich was and that the fbi never investigated his murder, democracy is inoperative.oh trump administration.   yoo hoo.  anyone in there?  hellooo.   you want to win this thing or what?  social mood, history and logic are on your side but you have to at least try.

there is a certain logic to that but even more important than that seth rich was the source of the emails not russia (and if the one who "proves" this {how?} gets something valuable in return doubts begin to spread) is the unassailable fact, it is their continued position, the fbi never investigated his murder.  if people can argue over the meaning of "is" or "hope", they can argue endlessly over what constitutes "proof" of russian hacking or seth rich's leaking.  certainly julian assange's revelation, which he is very unlikely to do, of everything he has on the matter would not convince "the resistance", including the legacy media left ventricle of its wildly beating heart.but anyone, at all, would say that something is wrong with the supreme investigative body of the u.s., charged with finding out who stole the dnc emails revealed by guccifer 2.0 and wikileaks last summer, not at least looking into the murder of a dnc data analyst with access to those same emails inexplicably murdered while on a cell phone call, in a good part of town, with nothing taken but severely beaten and shot twice, for whom the publishing body wikileaks offers an actual reward, unique in its history.  what the fuck?  not even look at his computer or his phone?  see if he might be a russian spy/trump mole?  this is the story.  that and the dnc's "rebuff" of the fbi's attempt to examine the dnc's servers.  well maybe the awan family as well (do they still have their passports?  if so why?).  get on the job president trump.  you don't seem to understand you are fighting to keep your presidency.  if these people will shoot you, and they obviously will, they will certainly impeach you the second they think they can,.

the visibility of this whole thing needs a power of ten increase.  maybe ivanka in a wet "his name was seth rich" t-shirt, just longer than her crotch?  firing these people doesn't solve the political problem of 40% approval and most people never heard of seth rich.  trump's attackers must be seen as unjust, as likely to be covering up real criminality, which truly does account for their behavior (not investigating seth rich's murder, not letting the fbi look at the dnc servers) better than anything else does.  try it and see.

John Podesta and his family are paid by Wa Po, and have been for a spell now. Mueller has been proven to be a long time companion of Comey so ... that's more collusion.

and everyone must know that mueller was the head of the fbi at the time of 9-11 and for a dozen years afterward and couldn't find one zionist in the whole mix.  couldn't even stop the shipment of the pinched mossad agents from new jersey (dancing israelis) back to israel, the critical evidentiary wtc steel to china for melting, or the bin laden (official perp's) family back to saudi before questioning.not even.

"officials say"What officials? A Special Counsel investigation is confidential to anyone not directly participating. So a leaking official would have to be internal to the investigation, or a member of the IC illegally spying on the investigation.Additionally, it would demonstrate a direct failure by Mueller to maintain confidentiality of the investigation.Or it could just be more FAKE NEWS from your DeepState-sanctioned Ministry of Propaganda.
