New Democratic Bill to Establish a 'National Russian Threat Response Center', Thrusting America Deeper into Russophobia

Content originally published at

Rep. Joe Kennedy introduced a bill to fight back against 'russian meddling' that will establish a 'National Russian Threat Response Center', whose goal will be to fuck with Russia on a regular basis. What is the point of such an idiotic layer of expensive bureaucracy? After all, isn't it the job of the lauded '17 intelligence agencies' to already do this job? I suppose this is the reward for all of this Russian bullshit, a great big payoff that will employee more deep staters, lavishing them with salaries, pensions, and healthcare benefits. They'll stop the Russian hackers, once and for all.

“Russia’s attack on our election was not guided by party affiliation but instead by a deep desire to weaken trust in our institutions and shake the very foundation of our democracy,” Rep. Joseph Kennedy of Massachusetts, the bill’s author, said Thursday. “Without a strong, coordinated response from our government, adversarial assaults on our electoral system, economy and national security will only become more sophisticated and sustained in the coming years.”

The bill is designed to amend the National Security Act of 1947, which would be dedicated to Russian and under the auspices of the DNI. It will commingle officers from the State Department, HLS, Treasury, the CIA, and the Pentagon.

“The Center will be responsible for synchronizing and analyzing information pertaining to Russia from across the intelligence community, diplomatic channels and law enforcement agencies,” Mr. Kennedy’s office said. “Using its broad view across the U.S. Government, the Center will develop policy recommendations and identify gaps in the current collection and collation of intelligence pertaining to Russia.”

The bill's aim, heralded by Kennedy and seven other democratic sponsors, is to disrupt Russian hackers before the elections happen. We must preserve our democracy and its intoxicating hue of abject corruptness, so that future generation of Americans can enjoy it as we have done.

“They do not target Democrats per se, they do not target Republicans per se — they target who they believe will stand up for American interests at the expense of Russian interests,” Mr. Kennedy told the Boston Herald. “We need to make sure that systems are put in place to safeguard our voting systems and our electoral process.   “By uniting our agencies and our allies against this common threat, our Response Center will ensure our government is ready and willing to respond to any future meddling before it takes root,” he said.

Separately, the Senate just passed a bill that would add new sanctions to Russia and strip away the President's power to remove them. Aside from adding new sanctions, the bill will codify old sanctions into law -- making them permanent.

"It’s particularly significant that a bipartisan coalition is seeking to reestablish Congress, not the president, as the final arbiter of sanctions relief, considering that this administration has been too eager — far too eager, in my mind — to put sanctions relief on the table," Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), who pressed hard for the strongest possible anti-Russia bill, said in a floor speech. "These additional sanctions will also send a powerful, bipartisan statement that Russia and any other nation who might try to interfere with our elections will be punished."

The rationale for the bill, aside from hacking into John Podesta's email box and stirring up a pizzagate controversy, is in response to their engagement in Syria, helping to defeat ISIS and America's other terrorist allies in the region, the invasion of Crimea, and of course helping elect Donald Trump. Rand Paul and Bernie Sanders were the only two who voted against the measure. Here are the details of the sanctions, which are widespread and significant.

Will the new threat center require evidence or will Democrat fairy tales suffice? Not that it really matters since our "intelligence" services will pounce on any perceived threat -- real or imagined --  with equal ferocity.Which explains why everything is going in a psychotic circle.

17 "intelligence agencies"

By this point i totally believe departments are just punking each other.

Working there must be hilarious.

Even funnier is that basement dwelling shit-posters on message boards are getting more done...IN THEIR SPARE TIME !!!

But please...go an 18th agency dedicated to explaining how Ivanka Trumps round ass is actually a Russian election hack.

this idea of kennedy's is exceptionally bad and he should be ashamed to sully his name with it.  but ditto on trump's treatment of iran.  and the bozos who came up with the isolate qatar idea just make iran stronger, a consequence not unwelcome to me, as a counter to the excessive influence of israel.if you want to defuse tensions with russia, president trump, why attack, in words or deeds, their comrade in arms iran?

Watch it, pal.  Ivanka's beauteous derriere, and overall body, bodacious ta-tas, as well as the to-die-for countenance, teeth, gums and face, are completely off limits. That she is the sine qua non shicksa, a paragon and a six pointed star of the first magnitude of a Jewish husband, hurts all the more. Oh, death, where is thy sting?

Are you not entertained. The Ds are in a minotiry. The only way they could get any traction with something like this is if the Rs were in on it. Oh wait,,

Now, let me get this straight. A Kennedy the Three wants to start another intel agency to fix the Russians before they fix us, so that "a foreign substance is (not) introduced into our precious bodily fluids... As many have pointed out here, America has gone over the edge. Given the stupidity of the general public and the corruptness of our politicians (Left and Right), it is just a matter of time until it really gets interesting. America is the Greatest Show on Earth and we have a front row seat.

They will not do ANY hacking prevention or security like they promised to the Senate. They will instead spend 100.00% of their time and taxpayer money posting hatespeech on the taxpayer dime in comments sections and composing fake news articles to try and f**k up the proles (themselves, essentially) in their own country, on behalf of Soros, Hillary and the ghost of Brzezinski.I.E. it's a weapon aimed at the Western voting public, whom the politicians loathe and fear.

I have campaigned against automated (e.g. "computer") voting for many years. This would all disappear if we simply had hand counted paper ballots. But no, we must spend billions on the pre-hacked voting machines, and then spend more pretending to protect them from the "Russians".This. . . is insane.

/~~~~~~~~~~Washington Post -- Joseph Kennedy Ends Gubernatorial Bid -- 8/29/79… five-term congressman, the eldest son of Robert F. Kennedy, had been regarded until last spring as all-but unbeatable in next year's gubernatorial election. But messy publicity about the annulment of his first marriage, the alleged affair of his brother Michael with a teenage babysitter and stories of his playing with illegal fireworks that burned his 16-year-old son have combined this year to smudge the image of the heir apparent to the Kennedy dynasty.\~~~~~~~~~~I knew it had to be something like this -- otherwise why is he not president? And then later, in '74 I recall, he rolled over a jeep and paralized his friend's girlfriend. What a great guy!

The sheer volume of fraud coming out of the swamp is astounding and the red team is doing nothing to stop it. They aren't even trying to stop it.

You are so right.  None of this would be happening if a Dem was in the white house.  I am so disappointed with the Republicans.  They have all of the power now but are continuing to let the Dems mop the floor with them.  The Republicans don't deserve to win anymore if they aren't going to use their power to defend the Republican president. They are all traitors in my mind and I will never vote for them again unless they change their ways quick.  2018 will be it for them.

Why doen't anybody do anything about this?Honest Hill'rey's IT guy Pagliano got 2 congressional subpoenas last year. He ignored them both.Chaffetz asked Sessions almost 6 months ago to enforce this, and has not.

The National Security Elimination Act of 2017.

The Deep State comprises of the following Criminal Entites as per Kevin Shipp Former CIA Officer Anti-Terrorism Specialist.

Effective immediately defund, Eliminate & Supeona it's Agents, Officials & Dept. Heads in regard to the Mass Surveillance, Global Espionage Spying network & monitoring of a President Elect by aforementioned Agencies & former President Obama, AG Lynch & DIA James Clapper.

The CIA can not only hack into anything -- they can download any "evidence" they want onto your phone or computer.  Child pornography, national secrets, you name it.  Then they can blackmail you, threatening prosecution for whatever crap they have planted, then "found" on your computer.    They can also "spoof" the source of such downloads -- for instance, if they want to "prove" that something on your computer (or Donald Trump's computer) came from a "Russian source"  -- they can spoof the IP address of a Russian source.

The take-away:  no digital evidence the CIA or NSA produces on any subject whatsoever can be trusted.  No digital evidence should be acceptable in any case where the government has an interest, because they have the complete ability to fabricate and implant any evidence on any iphone or computer.  And worse:  they have intentionally created these digital vulnerabilities and pushed them onto the whole world via Microsoft and Google.     Government has long been at war with liberty, claiming that we need to give up liberty to be secure.  Now we learn that they have been deliberately sabotaging our security, in order to augment their own power.  Time to shut down the CIA and all the other spy agencies.  They're not keeping us free OR secure, and they're doing it deliberately.  Their main function nowadays seems to be lying us into wars against countries that never attacked us, and had no plans to do so.

Dear Donald,Immediately, fire the top five layers in each of the above Departments and Agencies down to and including the Assistants to the Assistants to the Deputies of the Under-Secretaries of the Departments. Sign an EO restricting any of them from working for the government ever again.Retire all Generals who haven't come under active fire in combat. Retire all Admirals who haven't led a strike force into combat. Put on trial all members of the Intelligence community who have had a part in unlawfully (at the time of the offense) collecting or retaining private information on American citizens. Then, after the fair trial, hang them.Thank you,

Yes they were formally the "pacifist" party but now they march to the beat of Soros who wants a war with Russia in the worst way. Not sure why.Remember Hillary's proposal for a "no-fly zone" over Syria? Not her idea but Soros demanded it, it would involve shooting at Russian aircraft, sure to start WWIII.Scary.

Paper ballots and photo IDs should stop all the "Russian hacking of our elections".  Especially since there was no hacking and Hillary was brought down by Hillary.

Why waste time on this alligator when the swamp’s most critical economic and political problems revolve around the hegemony of a global corporate cartel, which is headquartered in the US because this is where their dominant military force resides. The US Constitution is therefore the “kingpin” of an all-inclusive global financial empire. These fictitious entities now own the USA and command its military infrastructure by virtue of the Federal Reserve Corporation, regulatory capture, MSM propaganda, and congressional lobbying. The Founders had to fight a bloody Revolutionary War to win our right to incorporate as a nation – the USA. But then, for whatever reason, our Founders granted the greediest businessmen among them unrestricted corporate charters with enough potential capital & power to compete with the individual states, smaller sovereign nations, and eventually to buy out the USA itself. The only way The People can regain our sovereignty as a constitutional republic now is to severely curtail the privileges of any corporation doing business here. To remain sovereign we have to stop granting corporate charters to just any “suit” that comes along without fulfilling a defined social value in return. The "Divine Right Of Kings” should not apply to fictitious entities just because they are “Too Big To Fail”. We can't afford to privatize our Treasury to transnational banks anymore. Government must be held responsible only to the electorate, not fictitious entities; and banks must be held responsible to the government if we are ever to restore sanity, much less prosperity, to the world. It was a loophole in our Constitution that allowed corporate charters to be so easily obtained that a swamp of corruption inevitably flooded our entire economic system. It is a swamp that can't be drained at this point because the Constitution doesn’t provide a drain. This 28th amendment is intended to install that drain so Congress can pull the plug ASAP. As a matter of political practicality we must rely on the Article 5 option to do this, for which the electorate will need overwhelming consensus beforehand. Seriously; an Article 5 Constitutional Convention is rapidly becoming our only sensible option. This is what I think it will take to save the world; and nobody gets hurt: 28th Amendment: Corporations are not persons in any sense of the word and shall be granted only those rights and privileges that Congress deems necessary for the well-being of the People. Congress shall provide legislation defining the terms and conditions of corporate charters according to their purpose; which shall include, but are not limited to: 1, prohibitions against any corporation; a, owning another corporation; b, becoming economically indispensable or monopolistic; or c, otherwise distorting the general economy; 2, prohibitions against any form of interference in the affairs of; a, government, b, education, c, news media; or d, healthcare, and 3, provisions for; a, the auditing of standardized, current, and transparent account books; b, the establishment of state and municipal banking; and c, civil and criminal penalties to be suffered by corporate executives for violation of the terms of a corporate charter.

Many here already know that I am no special fan of Russia, other than the rifles and cheap, high-quality ammo that they produce, but I am throwing the flag on this continued misallocation of resources against a made-up election-hacking threat from Russia.First of all, there are already plenty resources and competent people involved in addressing the cyber threats that exist from everyone--not just Russia.  Russia seems to have skilled hackers, but they do not present any more of a threat than any other state-sponsored hackers.  To make a special center devoted to their particular cyber douches is to either take resources from efforts against other states' cyber douches or to simply grow another unfunded entity.Second of all, this is not a paranoid re-creation of McCarthyism as many characterize it.  This is about exaggerating the Russian menace in order to further legitimize false accusations against Trump and associates of his administration. McCarthyism was a response to a real Communist threat.  This new Russian hysteria is not in response to some renewed threat.  If the Democrats and collaborationist wing of the GOP lose the "Russian threat" narrative, then they'll lose their only cudgel.  This center is just a way to keep up the pretense.Russia is one of our biggest competitors for global influence, and we will always engage in brinksmanship with them as we each seek to out-maneuver the other, but the recent narrative about Russia is about one thing, only--attacking the head of our Executive Branch. This is what these bloggers need to highlight.
