Russia Halts Cooperation With US In Syria, Will "Intercept Any Aircraft" In Russian Areas Of Operation

Shortly after Russia's deputy foreign minister slammed the US downing of a Syrian Su-22 jet as an "act of aggression" and "support for terrorists", Russia announced that starting June 19 it was halting all interactions with the US under the framework on the "memorandum of incident prevention in Syrian skies", the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday, thereby assuring the probability of even more deadly escalations between Russia and the US-led coalition.

In retaliation, the ministry warned that Russian missile defense will intercept any aircraft in the area of operations of the Russian Aerospace Forces in Syria,

"In areas where Russian aviation is conducting combat missions in the Syrian skies, any flying ojects, including jets and unmanned aerial vehicles of the international coalition discovered west of the Euphrates River will be followed by Russian air and ground defenses as air targets," the Russian Defense Ministry announced, quoted by Sputnik.

Contrary to the earlier statement by the US according to which, it "contacted its Russian counterparts by telephone via an established "de-confliction line" to de-escalate the situation and stop the firing", Russia claims the US-led coalition command didn't use the deconfliction channel with Russia to avoid an incident during an operation in Raqqa:

"Russian Aerospace Forces' jets were conducting operations in Syrian airspace that time. However, the command of the coalition forces didn't use the existing channel between the air command of the Qatari airbase al Udeid and the [Russian] Hmeymim airbase to avoid incidents over Syria."

The Russian ministry also "demands a thorough investigation by the US command with the provision of its results and measures taken."

"We consider such actions of the US command as an intentional violation of its obligations in the framework of the memo on avoiding incidents and the safety of aviation flights during operations in Syria signed on October 20, 2015."

A bilateral memorandum of understanding was signed between the United States and Russia signed in October 2015 to ensure the safety of flights during combat missions over Syria.

On June 18, the Syrian army said that the US-led coalition had brought down its aircraft in southern Raqqa countryside when it was fulfilling its mission against Daesh. Later, the coalition confirmed the attack saying that it shot down the Syrian government forces' Su-22 aircraft as it had allegedly been bombing in an area where US-backed rebel forces, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), were stationed, south of Tabqa in the Raqqa province. The US-led coalition called its attack on the Syrian army's jet "collective self-defense," adding that it contacted the Russian military to de-escalate the situation after the incident.

Why NONE of These Things Will Happen Under Trumpanyahoo: Hold press conference exposing the deep state and enlist support of the PEOPLE to do the following: 1. Pardon Edward Snowden and Julian Assange as a sign he WELCOMES whistle blowers and putting the PEOPLE'S business in the LIGHT----he/they love doing illegal things in secret and whistleblowers are their worst enemy 2. Begin to revoke the fed's charter by putting Ron Paul in charge of a special investigation of fed malfeasance and destruction of the currency---the fed gives them free money to fund their wars without going to the PEOPLE for permission 3. Immediately suspend weapon sales to ANY country or organization involved in a current conflict---the mic would NEVER allow this, war is a business and business is what the zionists are all about 4. Revoke israel's special exemption from foreign lobbying registration and fully audit AIPAC with an intention to uncover bribery and espionage---the zionists own the corrupt congress, no laws will pass against them as long as they control the money system (fed) 5. Immediately indict Bill and Hillary Clinton and others from the Clinton Foundation on charges of corruption, espionage, and theft---the zionists will never allow faithful employees to come to bad ends, that would be a sign of their weakness and hurt recruiting efforts 6. Rescind all future payments/allotments to the saudi arabia and israel until they are in compliance with international law and human rights standards---both are run by zionists and zionists believe that laws are for NON-ZIONISTS 7. Cease saber rattling against Iran and Russia and work toward peaceful, complementary accommodations---zionists want the natural resources of both countries and the removal of their current governments is the first step 8. Draw down the 600 plus U.S. military bases around the world and bring the Americans HOME---if anything, more Americans will be sent abroad to further the zionists ambitions 9. Initially shift 30% of the current military budget to domestic infrastructure needs with a mandate of further reductions of 10% per year---this is really a joke, the "budget" consists of money printed from thin air, there is NO ACCOUNTABILITY because THEY are the accountants  WAR IS COMING….

well, they don't wish they were muslims or blacks and, while claiming to be democrats (as opposed to authoritarians), they don't seem like whigs either ("Whigs advocated the rule of law, written and unchanging constitutions and protections for minority interests against majority tyranny." [wiki]) as they prefer to rule via their own secret decisions with one of their favorite moves the terrorist attack blamed on muslims (king david hotel, 9-11).

It appears Trump was told he must support the official Syria narrative, which is that ISIS is our enemy, but the rebels they are fighting with are our friends.  Our "friends" are our paid mercenaries.  It is no secret the real objective is to overthrow Assad, not to help the Syrian people or eliminate groups like ISIS.  During the campaign Trump repeatedly said we should get out of Syria.  Either he lied about it or they sat him down and gave him an ultimatum.  We all mocked that stupid ass Bush when he proclaimed there was an Axis of Evil, but we've been on course to overthrow these countries ever since.  And the plans as divulged by Wesley Clark appear to be accurate too. There is no legal, ethical, or moral reason to justify what we are doing in Syria.  And even though everyone knows we only care about money and power, it is never mentioned.

>There is no legal, ethical, or moral reason to justify what we are doing in Syria.I am afraid this is generally true for any country foreign policy anywhere. The legal, ethical and moral reasons are for the little people. For everyone else there is only game theory - if one can get a certain benefit, while the costs of obtaining it are less than the benefit itself then it is a go. Morals be damned. This is just an unfortunate way humans are hard-wired.

I wish I had your optimism.  The USA is clearly operating WAY outside intertational law. But what is international law if not law handed down by the USA for other nation's to operate under. We are intertational law.  It's a scam.Russia sure as shit will bitch and moan about these attacks but nothing will ever come from it. It is not restraint, they do not dare attack the US. It sucks.  I would like to see all US forces kicked out of Syria.  But I doubt that will ever happen, and Syria will suffer the same fate as Libya, Egypt, Iraq, etc.The USA is operating as ISIS's air force for Christ sakes, and yet you will never hear that mentioned by the 4th branch of government.  So the majority of people will never see Syria for what it is.Sucks all around.pods

Russia waits for a prominent NATO or UE member to publicly, officially point an accusing finger at US so that they can fill right away a motion with UN and position themselves together with Iran and China as entitled to retaliate directly against US in the Syria's interest. This may be way closer than perceived now that it seems Germany is badly butt hurt due to the lunatic kabuki played by US shallow oil interests forcing sanctions against Russia's UE energy game. Remember, all wars are resources control & access wars.

The US needs to get out of the Middle East. Taxpayer money is drained in endless wars. That is exactly what happened to the old Soviet Union, causing its collapse. They got bogged down for decades, trying to change the country of Afghanistan or for a few to benefit from military involvement. Thd US had to respond to 9/11, but did not have to linger there and in Iraq for years, with the middle class getting smaller and more squeezed during all of those years. It is not oil that causes it. The oil in many of these cases goes to Europe.

Survivors of the Sailing Regatta remain in custody on suspicion, pending further investigation."

Sorry, there's nothing funny about any of this.
