Only In California: Sacramento To Pay Gang Bangers If They Stop Killing People

Authored by Mac Slavo via SHTFplan.com,

You’re probably thinking this is a satirical report from The Onion.

We thought so, too.

But be assured it’s very real, as reported by Fox 40 Sacramento:

After a violent weekend of suspected gang-related shootings, Tuesday the Sacramento City Council took action to reduce the bloodshed.

It approved a controversial program called Advance Peace, which offers cash stipends to gang members who remain peaceful.

“Let’s get going on doing everything we can to save innocent lives,” Steinberg said.

The program targets key gang agitators, offering them cash stipends to graduate school and remain peaceful. It already claims success in dropping crime rates in Richmond. But the city would still have to pay half the cost of the program, $1.5 million out of the city’s general fund.

In the end, the council agreed to the program, voting 9-0 in favor.

Because policies of appeasement have worked so very well throughout history, why not give it another try?

Take money from peaceful tax paying citizens and redistribute that money to the gang bangers who are killing them.

Sounds like a brilliant idea that could only manifest itself on the progressively tolerant left coast.

Maybe we should kick this up to the Federal level and see if we can get taxpayer funds to send to the Islamic State and North Korea… that should work like a charm.

Only in Texas: ‘Send prayers’: Texas Republican turns down donated blankets, beds, manpower from Canada Those who have been impacted by Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Louisiana are only beginning to see the way the flood waters have destroyed their homes. Many families tried to ride it out, only to be rescued when the rising waters forced them onto their roof. Thousands escaped with only their lives and the clothes on their backs, losing everything they own.  But according to Secretary of State Rolando Pablos (R-TX), they don’t need any help. As Patheos reported, they just need a little more Jesus.  Quebec’s Minister of International Relations Christine St-Pierre called Pablos to express her sorrow and condolences on behalf of the people of the Canadian province. She also offered equipment and manpower.  Pablos turned it down. Instead he asked for “prayers from the people of Quebec,” the minister relayed.  Understandably, the neighbor to the north was shocked.  “It was a conversation about how devastating the situation is and we want to express our support to the people of Texas,” she told CBC News in an interview.  This isn’t the first time the Canadians have stepped up with substantial donations. After Hurricane Katrina, they also sent the donation of blankets, beds, pillows, hygienic products as well as electricians to help restore power. Louisiana was more than grateful to accept. Texas was a no. U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, by contrast, graciously accepted a generous offer from Mexico for assistance.  “He was very touched by the fact we called him,” she noted.

I'm sure registering for the program will be a flag for the future.

With that being said, this might be a good program, we'd have to see the numbers. If the program works and reduces crime and costs than it's a good program, end of story. If you disagree based on ideological grounds than the problem with with your ideology because at the end of the day whether something works or not should be the only criteria that's used to decide whether something's implemented.

That is some stupendously shallow thinking. Shooting petty criminals reduces crime at low cost. Is my ideological objection of no consequence because the program is successful? If I pay people to not commit crime, do I pay all law abiding citizens, or just the ones proven to be non compliant? What metrics will you choose to prove effectiveness? Is not killing people, the behavior which the program seeks to reduce, objectionable because of moral and ideological considerations?

You have provided a great example of Utilitarianism at its intellectual nadir. Thanks. We are all stupider for having been exposed to your blather.

and I thought the us police do as the columbian (and other) police. it is called, pequito trabaho, or, a little work. You get assigned for the night, and the job, is to kill drug guys, in a way that it looks like it is other drug gangs. Just to keep the wars going, or to support the most generous gang.

This scheme is not novel at all.  It's the oldest M.O. in human history, and even has a name, "protection money."  The Mafia used to do it -- just pay them a "stipend" and they will remain peaceful (i.e. not kill you or blow up your business).  It's the basis of aristocracy throughout time.  A thug recruits some followers and declares himself your "lord".  Just pay 80% of your crop, and the lord will protect you, and live in a nice manor at your expense. What has changed is -- before, overcoming aristocracy and the mafia used to be considered human progress.  Now reintroducing protection money schemes is considered progress.  No, it won't end well.

What'z your problem exactly?  The USA is not a 3rd world country.  We have Wall Marts full of this shit.  We can print money to buy as much of this shit as we need to give to the evacuees.  What we don't have is time and manpower to deal with a bunch more unneeded supplies.  So, the guy said, "just send your prayers", as a polite way of declining the help, just as you would say "just bring your appetite" to a dinner guest who asked what they should bring to your house. But sure, let's make fun of the Texan because they didn't want to deal with unneeded supplies.

I'm making over $7k a month working part time for George Soros and the local government. I kept hearing other people tell me how much money they can make by refraining from murder and assasination so I decided to look into it. Well, it was all true and has totally changed my life. This is what I do... Only In California: Sacramento To Pay Gang Bangers If They Stop Killing People
