Louis C.K. Responds To Sexual Misconduct Allegations: "These Stories Are True"

"Please stop it with voting for Trump. It was funny for a little while. But the guy is Hitler. And by that I mean that we are being Germany in the 30s. Do you think they saw the shit coming? Hitler was just some hilarious and refreshing dude with a weird comb over who would say anything at all."

       — Louis C.K. in the postscript of an email blast promoting his - now canceled - web series ’Horace and Pete.’
Later in the PS, the comedian called Trump an "insane bigot," "dangerous," and "a fucking liar."

And so another liberal Hollywood career is flushed down the drain, taking the express elevator of hypocricy straight to the bottom. Comedian Louis C.K., who was recently accused of sexual misconduct by five women, just said in a statement Friday that all the allegations are true:

I want to address the stories told to the New York Times by five women named Abby, Rebecca, Dana, Julia who felt able to name themselves and one who did not. These stories are true.

At the time, I said to myself that what I did was okay because I never showed a woman my dick without asking first, which is also true. But what I learned later in life, too late, is that when you have power over another person, asking them to look at your dick isn't a question. It's a predicament for them. The power I had over these women is that they admired me. And I wielded that power irresponsibly.

I have been remorseful of my actions. And I've tried to learn from them. And run from them. Now I'm aware of the extent of the impact of my actions. I learned yesterday the extent to which I left these women who admired me feeling badly about themselves and cautious around other men who would never have put them in that position.

I also took advantage of the fact that I was widely admired in my and their community, which disabled them from sharing their story and brought hardship to them when they tried because people who look up to me didn't want to hear it. I didn't think that I was doing any of that because my position allowed me not to think about it.

There is nothing about this that I forgive myself for. And I have to reconcile it with who I am. Which is nothing compared to the task I left them with.

I wish I had reacted to their admiration of me by being a good example to them as a man and given them some guidance as a comedian, including because I admired their work.

The hardest regret to live with is what you've done to hurt someone else. And I can hardly wrap my head around the scope of hurt I brought on them. I'd be remiss to exclude the hurt that I've brought on people who I work with and have worked with who's professional and personal lives have been impacted by all of this, including projects currently in production: the cast and crew of Better Things, Baskets, The Cops, One Mississippi, and I Love You Daddy. I deeply regret that this has brought negative attention to my manager Dave Becky who only tried to mediate a situation that I caused. I've brought anguish and hardship to the people at FX who have given me so much The Orchard who took a chance on my movie. and every other entity that has bet on me through the years.

I've brought pain to my family, my friends, my children and their mother.

I have spent my long and lucky career talking and saying anything I want. I will now step back and take a long time to listen.

Thank you for reading.

geez, these sociopaths can't even offer their fake apologies without proving what blatent sociopaths they are."I'm great" "I'm powerful" "I'm admired" but made a few mistakes because "I'm great, powerful and admired"...This is how O-Traitor would always speak...everything was always about himself and how great he was (in his own delusional, sociopathic, disturbed and corrupt mind). All these fucks are like this...this particular fuck-tard just thinks he can admit his guilt in this way and that it's somehow better than how psycho Kevin Spacey admitted his guilt which turned into a massive bomb backlash against him and destroyed his entire life and career. Can't wait to hear what Charlie "Tiger Blood" Sheen is going to say about raping little boys.  I'm sure it will be the same sociopathic, psychopathic babble that all the rest of these scumbags say.Funny how none of them are sorry or honest about their crimes until they get busted for it, ay????Remember Carlos Danger Weeeener???  When shit came out about him he violently denied everything and fought against everyone in the world about it...called everyone liars and looked everyone in the eye on national TV interviews and lied like crazy.  Until the evidence caught up with him and then he cried about having a "disease".Yeah they all have a disease all right...but it's not "adiction"...it's being fucking psychopaths and there is no cure for that shit other than being put to death in front of all the world as a warning to all the other up and coming psychopaths who haven't been caught yet.And by the way, can anyone in this entire world ever doubt what psycho scumbags people like Bill Cosby or Bill Clinton are at this point given all the women who have come out (and sometimes died mysteriously) about what psychos they are????????????But let's not forget that women can be just as fucked up, eh hem....Hillary, Moochelle, and countless others who either ignore or condone or also participate in the same kind of criminal psycho behavior.there's a major war going on against men right now who have committed these crimes, but let's keep in mind there are definitely a whole lot of women who do psycho shit too and who are complicit in these crimes and they need to be treated with the same anger and contempt and all these scumbags guys are getting. Hypocrits like Ashley psycho Judd come to mind...she experienced abuse but never busted her abusers...instead she blames all white guys and Donald Trump.  Fucking crazy bitch hypocrits like her are just as bad IMHO

The most astonishing feature of the Louis CK mea culpa is not the lurid nature of the confessions, it's that we're dealing with a moron-tier mind.  Prior to reading this, janus assumed louis to be functionally literate.  I took it for granted that any who're handsomely paid to arrange words in a creative or compelling way would possess a working comprehension of the language to which those words belong.  While louis can occasionally execute a basic declarative sentence ("These stories are true."), he often fails on this most elementary score: "And run from them." (can I buy a noun, louis?) "I have been remorseful of my actions." (let's work on past participles, louis).  God forbid that depraved ginger try his hand with an independent/dependent clause.  Good God, ZHealots -- after rereading it i'm even more appalled...i could pick this piece apart till the cows come home.  The fact that this missive was posted for all the world to see leaves the sentient reader aghast.  Doubtless the fool took his time, edited it, ran it through a spell check and perhaps asked that another set of retard-grade eyes peruse it; and still, after all these fail-safes, louis pushed back from his posh desk, felt the flush of writerly satisfaction at well-crafted prose and pressed send.  So, louis, you've not only confessed to being a sleazy sexual degenerate, you've also betrayed your wanton ignorance of the English language and revealed to the world that you've been compensating for a double-digit IQ throughout your career. Once again, this piece is proof that success in the entertainment world has two principal requisites: 1) have a jewish surname 2) be a sexual deviant every. single. time.janus

He asked women if he could show them his dick?I call bullshit! No heterosexual man would repeatedly do that, exactly that, and only that.Watch ... TPTB will reward him for doing this for them. Also, we are supposed to believe that this harmed adult women?!--who are in the entertainment industry?! Again, I call bullshit!

Most common is when one parent wants to severely beat the child and the other parent wants time out, or let them do what they want. They seperate, then the child lacks the ability to tell right from wrong because there has never been any real consequences for their actions. After 5 years old, it's too late. At a minimum, it's a clever strategyThe tide of the peanut commentators & backslappers here on ZH is to shit on him, but I think that may be misguidedHis confession reads to me like one of the most responsible & thoughtful things of the sort I've ever seen, full stopYou can dislike him for his pollitics & humor. And you can doubt the sincerity of the statementBut the statement itself is remarkable

No- his disgusting actions prior to his apology are remarkable- an apology is expected,  we're just not used to hearing it so readily. You want to believe that Louis has suddenly reformed and seen the light; That sort of perspective comes later after the fact, NOT the week after he was whipping his dick out for strangers. You're being manipulated by a very bright guy-  a guy who has an agenda.   What else isn't he telling us?Let's hear how "reformed" he feels after he hasn't eaten for a couple years- his "pain" will be a lot more believable then.  As of now, this "sincerity" is merely a self-serving tactic.   He's literally congratulating himself for his new-found wisdom here- for Gods sake,  he plugged each one of his current projects!!  That's bullshit.

Here's a facial for admiring me."I suppose having a room full of people clapping when you show up and making millions of bucks makes you think you can do this shit and get away with it forever. For the rest of us it's a lot of hard work and time consuming to get to that point.Especially if you're married.

Ashley Judd spread her legs to get ahead, and it worked. The same for some of the other complainers. Only that does not work anymore for them - they hit the wall and do not have the skills to transcend that as an actress. Ashley Judd and others always hated men really but now they can transform themselves into the self righteous feminist and get attention/fame being at the front of that group. I think Judd takes it so far as to say she agreed to sex more than once with a person because she feared she might be raped if she did not. So even yes means no now. (There are plenty of actresses who did not use sex to get ahead and lost out to girls like Ashley Judd)

I have not paid attention to every account but do not remember any women saying he pulled it out without them saying yes. So what is the crime? If they said yes, they said yes. Maybe they liked watching him.

Ok, maybe the phasing was wrong. Maybe "dick" is too vulgar. Then he should have asked if they wanted to see his penis or see him masturbate. Is that better? Ok, how about this - Can you ask a woman if she wants to have sex. Is that different? If you cannot ask that then want are we to do? I of course agree that if told no then you should just drop it (the subject).

And this - "The power I had over these women is that they admired me. And I wielded that power irresponsibly." Are men now so constrained that if a woman likes you or admires you that a man cannot make a move on them? Why? Are we responsible for their decisions, does having sex with a woman who admires you become like having sex with a woman who is drunk? In a recent case a drunk college guy crashed in his room, a girl who "admired" him opened the door, went in, gave him oral sex and expected then to be girlfriend. HE got kicked out of school for "abuse", for not stopping her. Even in the 70's there was a feminist who declared "All sex is rape". If it Flys, floats, f's.

He was a jerk. He should have lead in with softer language to test the waters. Those who agreed to it chose to do so - no regret rape/abuse claims allowed.

Except that he is lying.Otherwise it's great. Also, wait for the assault allegations to fly. Then there will be another letter saying that he didn't realize that when he asked women if it was okay if he assaulted them that he wielded tremendous power over them and that their consent to assault wasn't of their own free will.

You read minds I guess. This is what a real apology looks like. It can be faked but most people who need to apologize are so far from reality that they wouldn't know how to fake it. He owns up to the fact that he did wrong. He says he thought it was alright but now sees it wasn't. He expresses regret for the harm that he caused. Most libs can't do that. The lib mind thinks that if they thought it out and came to a conclusion then it MUST be THE answer because they can't fathom that their reasoning could possibly be in error. I was misinterpreted. I was set up. I didn't do it. They say anything but I screwed up. This guy says he f'd up, that he hurt people, that he knows he can't just say sorry and all will be good. Most will say I messed up BUT... He isn't offering up any of the standard lines. "We were both at fault" "It really wasn't a big thing" "No real harm was done" "The devil made me do it"

Exactly. He's just taking the "Yes, I did it, but I can't change what's already done. I feel bad about, and will never forgive myself for it, but can you please find it in your heart to forgive me, and give me a chance to do the right thing from here on out?" angle.

Trust me, I am a master at manipulation; I've used every trick in the book. Though I'm NOT a sexual abuser, I have, and still do use psychological ploys to achieve desired outcomes in both my personal and professional life, and have successfully used them since childhood.

I know another manipulator when I see one, but I'm one of the few who will openly admit to a manipulation while it's happening.

The key to successfully pulling this off, is to offer the 'mark' (target of your manipulation) what they perceive as being a greater value than what you're asking for in return. Works each and every time. By reputation, I'm known as a generous person in some circles, with people who are happy to do favors for me, because "they feel like they owe it to me".

Quid pro quo.

They say it's illegal in some circumstances, but lots of people do it.

When you were a kid, you might remember your parents promising to take you out for ice cream, if you cleaned your room. You perceived the ice cream cone as having more value to you, than you did the time/labor it would take to clean your room.

This post is mostly gibberish, but I've manipulated you into reading it, because the perception that the information contained in it was worthwhile, was firmly ingrained in your mind, by the power of suggestion, and the idea that you might learn something new.

Maybe you did, maybe you didn't. Maybe it's Friday, and I just felt like writing. In any event, have a nice weekend.

@ Chumblez:

People manipulate each other all the time; it's nothing new, some are just better at it than others.

I don't manipulate people in a way that is harmful to them; that would be unethical. Rather, I manipulate people and situations in a way that is advantageous to me. Call it "Looking out for #1".

The true psychopath would be the person who says they would never, or have never done that. I get what I want, by offering more in return, and giving the return before the request. This puts the person in a position where they'll have a hard time saying no, and will struggle with it internally, UNLESS they are a psychopath.

My skill at this, all lies in subtlety; I convince people that They want to do what I want them to do. This has more to do with being able to read people, and knowing how they'll respond - and putting myself in a favorable position to get the best response.

I really like Louis (not always, his politics is lame) so I may be biased, but I agree.  Louis CK is the kind of comedian that lays it all out.  And a lot of his work is sometimes extremely poignant and honest and not intended to be funny at all (his FX series Louis was really good).  This apology sounds pretty much like a sincere thing Louis would say.And I mean, come on, he didn't Harvey Weinstein them (Joey Diaz the other day in his podcast called him and his ilk "Dungeon Jews", i.e. they have dungeons where they carry out their vile perversions :D), he just asked them if they wanted to see his dick, and apparently they said yes.Ten lashings with a wet noodle and we all move on.-chumblez.

Signed in just to upvote your original comment... and to junk some others.Yes, that is what a sincere apology looks and sounds like.We got some real "Old Testament" folks here in Fight Club, huh? So damned scared of the liberals and the commies, they become apalling examples of humanity, just to shout the loudest, about the revenge they believe is justified, for transgressions: against women? Hah! And in the next breath they condem and insult women, dehumanizing them JUST THE SAME as ol' Weinstein, and Louis, and Anthony, and all the rest. JUST THE SAME.You ol' Boys screaming, with spittle on your cracked lips, and with bile and sour hate in your cracked voices... I bet you do fear God... and what he's gonna do to you, for all you've "benefited" his sons and daughters.  Cowards espouse hate.  Better empty your cups, while you still have time to carry The Word, in your hearts.  "He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone...".  - JBN
