"Impeach Trump" Billboards Have Come To Times Square

Apparently, running one of his “impeach Trump” ads during game five of the World Series didn’t provide billionaire Democratic donor Tom Steyer enough exposure.

As we’ve previously reported, the unhinged billionaire’s ad campaign demonstrates a shocking lack of self-awareness. In the video, Steyer bills himself as an “American Citizen” and ticks off exaggerated claims about Trump, including accusing him of being “mentally unstable” and a “clear and present danger” to the American people.

He then pleads with members of Congress to circumvent the Democratic process and impeach the president for a series of vaguely defined violations.

As if to underscore its ridiculous claims, a weepy string quartet plays throughout the video, in case viewers couldn’t grasp the gravity of the threat that Trump represents.

Now – just in time for New Years Eve and the rest of the busy holiday season – Steyer is plastering “impeach Trump” billboards in New York City’s Times Square. The digital billboards will flash Steyer’s message to passers-by for 10 minutes out of the hour.

The billboards direct viewers to a petition that Steyer started encouraging Republican members of Congress to join the push to impeach Trump.

For 10 minutes out of every hour through to New Year’s Eve, billboards on Times Square will direct passers-by to a website where they can sign a petition calling for US President Donald Trump’s impeachment.

Over 350,000 people walk across Times Square each day, one of the busiest pedestrian zones in the world. It will only get busier on New Year’s Eve, when up to a million people will go to watch the countdown. They might also catch a glimpse of the billboards paid for by billionaire Democratic Party donor Tom Steyer. The billboards direct their viewers to Steyer’s website, needtoimpeach.com, where they can sign a petition asking Congress to take action against the Commander-in-Chief.

“We’re putting a couple of large billboards in Times Square calling for the impeachment of the president,” Steyer, who put $20 million toward the campaign, told Bloomberg on Monday. “We legitimately feel that this is the huge issue in front of the American people that no one is standing up for what the overwhelming number of Americans think.”

Steyer is former hedge fund manager who has championed environmentalist causes like fighting climate change. Since launching his “impeach Trump” campaign, the petition has garnered nearly 3 million signatures. While it might seem large out of context, it’s a tiny fraction of the nearly 50 million Americans who voted for Trump.

The financier has persisted with his campaign despite pleas from senior Democratic leaders like Nancy Pelosi to end it. Pelosi and other top Dems have reportedly told Steyer that they consider his campaign a distraction from the party’s overall political strategy.

Meanwhile, progressive Democrats in the House have introduced articles of impeachment against Trump for the fourth time – a decision that has also drawn the ire of Pelosi, who can’t afford another poor showing in the 2018 mid-term elections. In the articles of impeachment, the Democrats listed five acts – including firing former FBI Director James Comey – that should qualify him for impeachment.

Opponents of Trump’s controversial presidency have long called for his impeachment, accusing him of colluding with the Russian government during the 2016 presidential election campaign, among other things. However, despite an avalanche of leaks seemingly orchestrated to discredit the president, no clear or definitive evidence of collusion – which isn’t a crime in and of itself - has been found.

Trump famously lashed out at Steyer on Twitter last month, calling him “whacky” and “totally unhinged”.

Unbelievable!!!!SATAN and his minions are pulling out all the stops.Isn't it interesting how many Americans just want to live unrighteous, corrupt lives. They seem bent on destroying the republic. At the end of the day, President TRUMP and the TRUMP administration are going to have no choice but to invoke draconian measures to rain this crap in.By the way, as I look at the US Constitution and Declaration in Independance, NO WHERE in those documents do they permit TREASON. This billboard and the MARXIST PROGRESSIVE LIBERALS constant violation of the RULE of LAW is creating real division in America. HAPPY THANKS GIVING AMERICA.

Another ultra Wealthy jerk that was a hardcore Hillary Supporter, I wonder what skeletons are in his closet.  There must be some if he supported that Criminal Witch.  And to think Hillary tried to present herself as the poor persons choice and the choice for women.  What  joke.  Sure the idiot Leftist will cheer at this billboard.  The just don't get it that the Cities are the only places like this.  If they try to impeach President Trump, rural America will revolt, no  more food for the cities, no more truckers bringing in those goods, the cities would implode in less than 2 weeks.

No matter who is funding the billboard advertisements the fact is that this is so old school and low tech that only an overawed out of towner would bother to pay any attention to a crappy graphic and soppy background string music, but only if they can bring the zimmer frame to a halt fast enough to catch the message. If you insist on running retro then my free advice would be to get an image up there of Maxine Waters in full screech."MMPEACH!! MMPEACH!"That alone would take a few years off anyone within 100 yards of the billboard, with the added benefit of scaring away both the rats of the sky (Columba livia domestica) and the rats of the earth (scurrying FED and Wall St. types). For a very large fee (thinking seven digits and 1 week of hot and cold running wenches) I could advise on how do it properly and with great effect in the digitally connected world. But that would spoil all the fun of taunting on ZH. However for the benefit of the poor nubile wenches I will if requested make the supreme sacrifice. J. Peasemold Gruntfuttock

Pretty sure Tom is into this stuff: http://www.tikkun.org/nextgen/cosmological-wisdom-planetary-madness     He was lending money to coal companies to increase production and then slowly sold his shares. Against keystone pipeline. Carbon credit scam? Why else would he be so interested in keeping the global warming fraud alive? Supported Terry McAuliffe's campaign, and then Terry promised to protect gays in the workplace. My gadar goes off everytime I look at the guy. Maybe his main source of little boys is in danger of going to prison dragging him down with it?

I don't want a small number of counties anywhere detereming what is right for the country, which is exactly what happens with the current setup. Why is one state (Florida) so important to elections and my Texan vote is practically useless? We need to rework the electoral college so each state has an equal amount of votes. That way the opinion of Californians is just as important as Montanan.

You are correct when you factor in all the illegals and the legions of the undead that voted in the last election.  What you are missing is that the framers were smart enough to understand the dangers of huge population center dominating the national election.  We are very close to a point again where L.A., San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Atlanta, and Miami disenfranchise the rest of the country.  That happened with the election of Lincoln and resulted in civil war. Politics is war by another name.  Most of us are willing to accept our losses because on the other end we expect some wins.  Go back and look at the county by county election map and you will see that the mega cities are an archipelago of blue.  Those blue centers control congress.  They have a tremendous input when it comes to the courts.  If they secure a lock on the executive, the sea of red is disenfranchised. We are walking a tight rope my friend.  Be thankful for the brilliance of the framers.
