GOP Reps Seek Criminal Prosecution Of FBI, DOJ Officials For "Full Throated" Illegal Misconduct And "Treason"

Following the release of a four-page memo detailing rampant FISA warrant abuse by the FBI and DOJ, Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) announced that he will seek the criminal prosecution of FBI and DOJ officials for the "full throated adoption of this illegal misconduct and abuse of FISA by James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Sally Yates and Rod Rosenstein" who Gosar called "traitors to our nation."

Gosar focuses on the memo's claim that the FBI and DOJ did not mention that Christopher Steele, the ex-MI6 spy who compiled the dossier, was partially funded by the Clinton campaign and the DNC.

"This is third world politics where the official government agencies are used as campaign attack dogs," Gosar said.

The letter reads in part:

The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence memorandum on the FBI abuse of FISA warrants and targeting a sitting President is not just evidence of incompetence but clear and convincing evidence of treason....

I will be leading a letter to the Attorney General seeking criminal prosecution against these traitors to our nation."

Meanwhile, Georgia GOP Gubernatorial candidate Sen. Michael Williams is  calling for the prosecution of Comey - saying he should be "sent to prison for his crimes":

"The leadership of the FBI and DOJ behaved in a way we would expect of the former Soviet Union, not the United States of America. I applaud Representative Nunes and other Republican members of the House Intel Committee for fighting and exposing corruption. Americans are tired of corrupt bureaucrats and their career politician enablers. If powerful leaders are not held accountable, the American people will never regain faith in the institutions meant to protect us. Former FBI Director James Comey was entrusted with one of the most powerful positions in the world. Sadly, he intentionally abused his power in an effort to destroy Donald Trump's presidency. He should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and sent to prison for his crimes. No one is above the law. No one."

We're sure Attorney General Jeff Sessions - who resisted calls for a second special counsel to investigate FBI misconduct - will take Gosar's request seriously, despite praising Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein earlier today for representing "the kind of quality and leadership that we want in the department- right after the FISA memo detailing his conduct was released.

Good thing Sessions isn't some deep-state concession Trump had to agree to in exchange for GOP support during the election.

Finally! Some leadership. Disband the entire FBI, except for the ones who willingly take lie detector tests proving they aren't biased.

Let's also not forget that O'Bambam, the Kenyan Moozie Traitor, also used the IRS as a political attack dog against conservative organizations (his obvious political opposition).

He set the Banana Republic precedent and his dirty hands are likely involved in all of these FISA shenanigans as well.

Finally, some Republican congressmen found their lost balls. Go after all of them and insist on criminal charges, otherwise it becomes quite clear to even the most clueless persons that there is one law for us and another for the for the privileged. I would like to see some of the rank and file calling for indictments of the treasonous agents at the top.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions and the head of the FBI Wray both are protecting the FBI. Wray is calling for his FBI troops to circle the wagons and has indicated he will release his own memo to discredit all the criticism of the FBI. Sessions has allowed the investigation about Russiagate to stay on the tracks and has prevented it from being diverted towards the real criminals.

And both were the personal selections, vetted and chosen by Trump. I get the feeling Trump is playing the public and has not intention of draining anything.

well, it seems that as 'treason' was called out here on 0hedge numerous times it has reached the ears of some of the people in position to do something about it. Did you folks noticed that suddenly in the last days the number of leftie trolls who used to mess around has dropped almost to 0?! Probably they recived a retreat and burn everyting behind order.

The Democrats had their moment in the sun when they elected Obama. He was everything the left had ever hoped for.    He was black.  The descendants of former slaves were running the white house.  He was a constitutional scholar.  He was a noncitizen, Muslim.   He was a socialist.  He was going to give everyone free health care.  He was going to open the borders to the wretched around the world. He was going to remake America.

Reality shattered the hope.  The rich got richer. The poor got poorer.  The oil wars escalated.  The deep state declared war on the American cowboy and the racial divide widened.  Plenty of blacks dominated his administration but the average black did not prosper.  Blacks found themselves in direct competition with Latinos and Muslim Immigrants for menial jobs. Middle white America armed itself to the teeth.

To top it off, Obama’s FBI and Justice Department enabled criminal Hillary to steal their party’s nomination from Bernie Sanders.  They wound up with a decrepit, inept, amoral Saul Alinsky, acolyte that sold the national interest to the highest bidder both foreign and domestic.  With all the party’s inner circle voter rigging and manipulation, somehow, she still managed to lose the election to a white alpha male.

As the skullduggery winnows its way into the light, the inner circle faces prosecution.  The sycophants are jumping ship and the cash coffers are running dry.  The Jews, Muslims and blacks operating out of self-interest will tear the Democratic party apart in the next couple of election cycles and the Jackass will wind up in the dustbin of history.

Trump is the Obama of Middle America.  He is their last hope.  If the wall does not go up, if Hillary is not prosecuted, he is done and so is the Republican Party.

Oligarchs, a massive show trial is the distraction you need in this ongoing collapse.  Putting a few hundred bureaucrats and a dozen or so high profile politicians in orange jump suits will give the masses the schadenfreude they need to distract them from their personal pain .  You need to let these people go down.  Money is liquid.  Move it to the winning side.

Is Sessions for real??  The guy must be working to undermine his boss, unless it is all part and parcel of an orchestrated campaign.

Agreed, but oligarchs are adept at cutting the strings on one failing puppet while attaching their tethers to another.  Hillary and company are no longer an asset.  They are a liability.  If the FBI was shut down this afternoon and half the Justice Department were fired tomorrow, the Squid would begin making inroads into the new bureaucracy the day after.

Michelle Obama, nee Robinson, is probably descended from slaves.

That was indeed the real appeal of Obama.  He allowed the Democratic Party to run a black man without dealing with the legacy of slavery in America.

"Communist?"  I think you need a new dictionary.  Back in his days in the Illinois Legislature, Obama sounded a Paul Ryan line on pensions, Social Security and Medicare.  In May of 2008, I read an analysis of presidential campaign contributions, and at that moment Obama was getting more contributions from Wall Street Finance companies than either the Republican nominee Sen. John McCain or the sitting Senator from New York (Wall Street's home senator) and spouse of who had been the most Finance-friendly President in US history; Hillary Clinton.

So if you are telling me that Wall Street and the Fortune 500 are Communists, I think we need to re-examine terms.  I would note that both McCain and Obama promised in October 2008, if elected, they would both nominate as Secretary of the Treasury one Timothy F. Geithner.  Obama won, appointed Geithner, and enacted the biggest bailout in history, diverting the US Treasury through Wall Street.  Much bigger in scope, scale and consequence than his piddle Band-Aid for the healthcare finance sector, known today as "ObamaCare."  No "Communist" ever, by any stretch of any definition, would have done that.

Maybe Obama pandered to a different faction of the Oligarchy than you think you support, but to call him a "Communist" makes you seem silly and discredits any attempt at analysis you might try.  I've never been any sort of Obama supporter, but words do in fact mean things and if we just let words mean whatever we feel like having them mean, we can't communicate.

Mr Swimguy, would the act of attempting to socialize one sixth of the US economy in the creation  ofObamacare be the act of a free market capitalist ,or a Marxist socialist?

Would the nationalization of GM be the act of a free market capitalist,or a Marxist socialist?

Would his support of anarchist movements such as BLM, suggest the actions of a free market capitalist or a Marxist socialist?

You look at all the taxpayer and printed money that flows into Wall St. and Fortune 500 companies, and tell me they aren't all about communism?  I'd guess that about 60% of every dollar that makes its way off a government printing press ends up in the hands of a corporation as a subsidy.  Not only in direct grants, and tax breaks, but you have programs like SNAP and Medicare that prop up broken industries, with every dollar sent to "the people" ending up in the hands of a megacorp within minutes.  Don't even get me started on laws and regulations, with nearly every one designed to enrich companies that line the pockets of our lawmakers.

It may not be traditional stone-faced Stalinism redistributing from on high, but the results are the same.  Isn't it the ultimate communist mantra, that the ends justify the means?  The commies know the American people aren't going to sit idly by if they overtly say we're looting and redistributing everything in the interest of equality.  That's why they do it piecemeal, and hide it in tax code, regulations, and so-called charity, or human rights.

"He was a noncitizen, Muslim.   He was a socialist. "

This is so stupid.  Just because you dislike someone, it does not mean that person is the embodiment of everything that you dislike.

Obama is an unprincipled piece of shit who was around to serve powerful interests.  If you actually live in factual reality, he is non-religious and apparently some sort of classical liberal in his personal views.  George W. is an evangelical christian and a traditional conservative, but of course he was neither of those things in practice.  That doesn't make him a neocon and hindu.

Nunes and the GOP need to remember their strengths even after all the opposition:

“Though much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.”

Wray was way down on the list and no one would do it. Trump is fighting for his political survival, he wouldn't be playing this, the stakes are too high.

Mueller and Rosenstein are as crooked as they come. Sessions is establishment.

Trump had lists of many people, some like Keane didn't take the offer of DOD Secretary, so Mattis was chosen. Same story for many positions, it's so cut throat in Washington no one wants to do it.

There were trillions of more to be robbed from us by the Clinton gang. It was all about who was going to rob America, if it was Clinton who won, the so called neoliberal wealthy elite, the army of wealthy homosexuals, pedos, Clinton donors, would have been able to rob our country blind. They would have ran up another $10 trillion debt in 8 years. Then we would have seen a small wealthy uber elite and a vast one class, dirt poor class. The US would have been a weak broken nation under One World Government UN rule.

Thank God Obama is over and Clinton is not to be. Trump's not perfect, but he makes these two look like criminals trying to strong arm rob the nation.
