Florida Governor Orders Investigation Into Parkland Shooting Response

Florida Governor Rick Scott has ordered the state's top law enforcement agency to conduct an independent investigation into the Broward Country Sheriff's Department response to the deadly Valentine's Day shooting at a Parkland high school, the governor's office announced Sunday.

FL Gov. Rick Scott

Gov. Scott's request to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) to investigate the matter follows a letter from Florida House Member Bill Hager (R) calling for Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel to resign over his department's response to the shooting, along with dozens of visits to suspect Nikolas Cruz - making the Sheriff "fully aware of the threat this individual [Cruz] presented to his community."

BDSD visited Cruz's home 23 times over a seven year period for emergencies including a "mentally ill person, " "child/elderly abuse", "domestic disturbance," and "missing person." according to

Controversy erupted in the aftermath of the shooting when it was revealed that a Broward County resource officer who was stationed at Stoneman Douglas High School never went in during the shooting - instead waiting outside pointing his gun at nothing.

The Resource Officer, Scot Peterson, resigned shortly after being suspended without pay - and drew harsh rebuke from President Trump, who called him a coward.

"But he certainly did a poor job. There's no question about that. He was there for five minutes, for five minutes. That was during the entire shooting. He heard it right from the beginning. So he certainly did a poor job. But that's a case where somebody was outside, they're trained, they didn't act properly or under pressure or they were a coward. It was a real shock to the police department." -Trump

Conflicting reports have also emerged over whether three more Broward County Sheriff's Deputies waited outside the High School while officers from neighboring Coral Springs Police Department (CSPD) arrived and entered the crime scene, according to a source on the CSPD who told CNN.

Some Coral Springs police were stunned and upset that the four original Broward County Sheriff's deputies who were first on the scene did not appear to join them as they entered the school, Coral Springs sources tell CNN. It's unclear whether the shooter was still in the building when they arrived. -CNN

The four Broward Sheriff's deputies, including fired High School Resource Officer Scot Peterson, had their pistols drawn from behind the safety of their vehicles, and "not one of them had gone into the school," according to shocked Coral Springs police.

Sheriff Israel blames NRA for shooting at CNN Town Hall

Sheriff Scott Israel hit back in a letter to governor Rick Scott - noting that while Rep. Bill Hager's letter says "The School Resource Officer and three Broward Sheriff Deputis were on campus at the time of the attack and chose to take cover themselves rather than stepping up to protect students," Israel says "Only one law enforcement officer was ever on campus - at any time - during the attack," while admitting that the Coral Springs PD entered first, and that "Unknown to the officers on the initial entry, video shows the killer had already fled the building over four minutes before they first entered."

In other words, the officers on scene thought the shooting was still ongoing, which means the CPSD still thought they were risking their lives, while the Broward County Sheriffs Dept officers refused to go in. Israel also noted that Hagar's quote of "39 visits" made by BCSD to the home of Nikolas Cruz (from CNN) was incorrect, when in fact they (only?) made 23 calls, and 18 visits

Israel said his office will “fully cooperate with FDLE, as we believe in full transparency and accountability. This independent, outside review will ensure public confidence in the findings," while insisting early Sunday that he's not going anywhere.

“Of course I won’t resign,” the second-term sheriff told CNN’s “State of the Union.”

Why would he do that? Israel wouldn't be able to cruise around in the lambo...

Liberals have no business being LEO's, they are all a bunch of useless agenda driven douchebags.

That Sheriff and his jack boots WANTED a high body count.

Do you think the outrage would have been the same if only 2 kids were killed?

This is such BULLSHIT. Our leaders are using us to further an agenda and they dont give two shits about the parents and friends of those who were killed. (Not to mention those who actually DIED)

Why are all these witnesses being ignored?

Why aren't people up in arms about the fact that there are police and an armed guard that did nothing during the shooting but instead want to blame Trump?

Why aren't we allowed to question and investigate events anymore? Why do we have to? Shouldn't the news media be doing this instead of people on YouTube?

Why would YouTube want to censor and delete videos of witnesses?

Why was CNN scripting questions at their townhall event?

Why was CNN saying it was disgraceful to question the authenticity of the victims of the shooting yet the next day they called a student thar survived the shooting a liar?

Why are the never any video recordings of these incidents released anymore? No security footage from Vegas and no security footage from this incident, no security footage from Sandy Hook?

Why did everyone think it was a drill at first?

Why hasn't the fact that it was the second time that day that the fire alarm had gone off being discussed more?

Why did a teacher think that Nicolas Kruz was a police officer at first due to the fact that he was dressed in full tactical gear?

Why aren't people allowed to ask questions anymore?

An amazing guy ... this sheriff and his Dept. let Cruz go some 39 times, then his fellow Deputies followed the good sheriff's lead, waiting for the real law-enforcement officers from Coral Springs police dept to show-up during the massacre.

...give him a hanging-chad to put on that regal collar

Buzzfeed are kike shills so I wouldn't believe anything they publish. Call records can be faked.

Maybe the Broward cops stood down because they were told it was all a drill? Or maybe they stood down to make sure that the contract killers had time to do their job and get away? The video of the girl being interviewed by the local news reporter and saying that she was literally talking with Nikolas Cruz when she heard the shooting start really tells you that none of this shit is on the level, and that nothing coming out of Parkland should be taken at face value. Don't bother looking for that video on Youtube, they already threw it in the memory hole, but apparently it is still available on Twitter.

The fact that Parkland is a center of activity for Jewish doomsday cult Chabad Lubavitch is even more troubling and suspicious. (Fun fact: Jared Kushner is a member of Chabad Lubavitch).

We live in interesting times.

Not everyone out here in the real world posts images of their classmates being slaughtered on YouTube or LiveLeak for obvious reasons Buck.

Or is it this lack of YouTube or LiveLeak internet postings your actual proof that the shooting did (or did not) occur and/or that this lack internet postings means all the survivors were merely part of a massive cover up, that is to say...actors?

Facts and fantasies are two different things, the witnesses and survivors will have their say.

Will they have their say?

How can you be so confident after Vegas?

The blond chicks vid saying she talked with Cruz while shots rang out elsewhere is still on Infowars.

it was scrubbed everywhere else. very quickly too.

why do you think that’s so? Not sure what you are trying to say. You think this is being reported and investigated in any real way? Nothing about this seem a little off to you?

One of the reasons for the size of BSO is due to its acting as police for many cities in Broward County. Not every city has its own PD, having found it cheaper to contract out LEO duties to BSO. Not that the size of the organization has anything to do with the fubar reaction to Cruz specifically or the tragedy in Parkland in general.

Would you go up against an NRA trained shooter with your pistol (range ~25m) when he has an AR15 (range ~200m). Suicide. You wait for back up.

As for the Coward-in-Chief draft dodger Trump, he ought to STFU.

The man at the top, Gov Scott, who should know what's happening, should go. But they'll burn the guys on the spot.

Governor Scott is not a lifelong politician, having made his money, if I recall correctly, in the healthcare industry: colluding with politicians perhaps, but not as a politician. Scott is planning to run against Dem. Senator Nelson this November. Nelson is one of the hyperventilating lunatic gun control types seen recently, although in the past he has told me he is in favor of the right to keep and bear hunting rifles. (Several years back he publicized his participation in an annual anti-python hunt in the Everglades. Two years ago I began to root for the pythons, if you get my meaning.)

Scott may actually try to get to the truth by investigating the events. If nothing else, it may help his election campaign if something nasty is discovered. Florida hasn't been all that bad under Scott, and he recently was judged to be close to Nelson. Of course Florida was a decent place under Low-Energy Jeb, too. At least Scott's no Charlie Crist.

These cops are just like almost all government employees these days, do-nothings who will avoid doing any work.  Those 4 BSO LEOs who were hiding behind their patrol car were following the standard procedure as shooters were in the high school gunning down soft targets ("sheep" as described by Sheriff Israel).  Contact any government agency and you will find out that someone will answer the phone, then there is no follow-up if that follow-up requires any sort of written response.  Civil service autism.  There is usually no down side to doing nothing if you know that everyone else also is just collecting a paycheck, money for nothing.  Those BSO cops are only good at meeting quotas for traffic tickets.

Leave the Sheriff alone.

He has admitted himself that he has done an amazing job.

Without that amazing job he's been doing the casualty count might possibly in the hundreds.

Well, at least no harm came to the cops cowering in the corners outside the school or the chiefs Lamborghini.

So in retrospect, the citizens of Broward (and Florida) have a lot to be thankful for in the frivolous expenditure of their tax dollars on fancy cars and cop pensions!

(Have I mentioned before these guys down there in Broward all sound like they're from New Yawk?) ;-)

I've always been able to deal with Illinoisans or Indianians (or whatever) better than New Yawkah's...New Yawkah's grate on my nerves with their arrogant condescension in only knowing half of what they're talking about and trying to bullshit their way through the rest of it.

It's just a personal thing with me.

Scott has fired a sheriff before, over in the panhandle if I'm not mistaken but the algos of Google have crammed anything to do with "gov scott fires sheriff" into relating it to the Broward county sheriff, so the net has been effectively been scrubbed for all intents & purposes of me linking it.

But I do remember him firing one for cause down here. He's got the FDLE looking into Broward (same org that went after the last sheriff) and from what I know about them...they're dicks...lol.

They are from New York, from what I gathered when I lived there. It’s just a bunch of Yanks in South Florida.

The BCSO used to come onto my employer’s private parking lot, and write parking tickets to anyone not parked in a marked space. The company would make announcements to the employees when they’d show up to give us a chance to try to find a marked space before getting a ticket.

Come visit here some time and you will be amazed at how many sound like they're from Caracas or Havana. And in the winter, from Montreal. Personally, I escaped from New Jersey, not New Yawk. Many of the older folks, who retired here from NYC, are dying off and represent a decreasing segment of the population. They're the ones whose votes built much of the political structure here. Unfortunately, many of their replacements are no more conservative than the infamous Debbie.

Need to bust up the public employee unions. Even F Roosevelt said they wouldn't work. This is what we are getting for allowing them to unionize. You can't get rid of the bad ones without practically a SCOTUS ruling and they know it.
