American and British Reporters Reach Douma, Syria: Discover There Was NO Chemical Weapons Attack

Forget what the Syrian government or the Ruskies say.

The first Western journalist has interviewed doctors at the hospital in Douma, Syria which supposedly treated chemical weapons victims and is announcing what really happened.

In the following 1-minute clip, award-winning journalist Robert Fisk – writer for Britain’s Independent for almost 30 years – explains that the video of victims struggling to breathe are real, but that they have nothing to do with a chemical weapons attack:

Here’s a transcript:

I’ve just been in the town of Douma. I found the clinic where the film of the children frothing at the mouth and having water thrown at them was made.

And I spoke to the hospital doctor, who actually spoke very good English. And he told me that the video is real. But they’re not suffering from gas poisoning.

They’re suffering from hypoxia (i.e. insufficient of oxygen) because of the amount of dust in the tunnels in which they live. All through the year people in the Douma area have been living beneath their own homes, in tunnels and basements.

And that night there was a shelling by the Syrian army and the Russian air force. And it produced a huge amount of dust and debris in the streets. And many people found it difficult to breathe.

And when they reached the clinic according to the doctor, someone shouted “gas” … and they panicked.

Background here and here.

Update: Fisk filed the following report with the Independent today:

This is the story of a town called Douma, a ravaged, stinking place of smashed apartment blocks — and of an underground clinic whose images of suffering allowed three of the Western world’s most powerful nations to bomb Syria last week. There’s even a friendly doctor in a green coat who, when I track him down in the very same clinic, cheerfully tells me that the ‘gas’ videotape which horrified the world – despite all the doubters – is perfectly genuine.

***

The same 58-year old senior Syrian doctor then adds something profoundly uncomfortable: the patients, he says, were overcome not by gas but by oxygen starvation in the rubbish-filled tunnels and basements in which they lived, on a night of wind and heavy shelling that stirred up a dust storm.

As Dr Assim Rahaibani announces this extraordinary conclusion, it is worth observing that he is by his own admission not an eye witness himself and, as he speaks good English, he refers twice to the jihadi gunmen of Jaish el-Islam [the Army of Islam] in Douma as “terrorists” – the regime’s word for their enemies, and a term used by many people across Syria.

***

This is not the only story in Douma. There are the many people I talked amid the ruins of the town who said they had “never believed in” gas stories – which were usually put about, they claimed, by the armed Islamist groups. These particular jihadis survived under a blizzard of shellfire by living in other’s people’s homes and in vast, wide tunnels with underground roads carved through the living rock by prisoners with pick-axes on three levels beneath the town.

***

I walked across this town quite freely yesterday without soldier, policeman or minder to haunt my footsteps, just two Syrian friends, a camera and a notebook.

***

It was a short walk to Dr Rahaibani. From the door of his subterranean clinic – “Point 200,” it is called, in the weird geology of this partly-underground city – is a corridor leading downhill where he showed me his lowly hospital and the few beds where a small girl was crying as nurses treated a cut above her eye.

“I was with my family in the basement of my home three hundred metres from here on the night but all the doctors know what happened. There was a lot of shelling [by government forces] and aircraft were always over Douma at night — but on this night, there was wind and huge dust clouds began to come into the basements and cellars where people lived. People began to arrive here suffering from hypoxia, oxygen loss. Then someone at the door, a ‘White Helmet’, shouted ‘Gas!”, and a panic began. People started throwing water over each other. Yes, the video was filmed here, it is genuine, but what you see are people suffering from hypoxia – not gas poisoning.”

Update 2:

American reporter Pearson Sharp says the same thing, that none of the local residents heard anything about a chemical weapons attack, and the locals said that the Islamic terrorists faked the attack in order to create enough chaos and confusion that they could slip out of town:

This would appear to confirm what the former British ambassador to Syria says.

Too quick to judge leads to moar war. Again. And again...

The facts only slow things down, figures get in the way.

So now do we wait for 'leaders' of the US, UK and France to cry crocodile tears for the dead?

Or will the facts now give reason to go even further against those who cried 'gas' in an act of retribution and with much hand wringing and renting of garments?

The 'white helmets' are now marked for death and their 'agency' handlers will not escape justice this time.

The media sees what it wants to see and wants the people to see.

The military acts as it wants to act whether the people want it or not.

And the politicians are complicit, two faced liars of convenience, ready to kill regardless of the consequences to any other but themselves.

But friends, it's our fault. We voted them in.

The only way to stop this madness is vote them all out and start anew.

Sentinel old fellow I will die turning blue before I hear a 'mea culpa' from any government.

I do not expect it and I would consider anything purporting to be an admission of guilt to be veiled in euphemisms, blame shifting, fault finding, finger pointing and endless drivel about 'making things right' and 'I just wanna tell ya...blah blah blah'.

An admission that 'someone' 'somewhere' if you will pardon the vernacular, 'fucked up', is just par for the course and to be expected. In ancient Roman times it was the fault of Sillius Soddus or Bickus Dickus, in the Asian nations the fault always lies with Sum Kunt, and in Russia the perpetrator is more often than not the notorious большой пенис.

Someone else gets the blame and those responsible get the credit for fixing things up.

Niccolò my Prince you still travel well down through the ages.

Trump's missile attack appears not to have been targeted on much.  We'll see.

It was probably all an operation against Trump to get him to alienate his voter base while the news will come back and lambaste him for doing what they told him to do..........which of course will further alienate his base.

I'm willing to look past it if he can make a case and then put a boot up an ass.

Trumpo's attack did target plenty of real Syrian assets, but those missles were shot down. It was not a fake attack. It was a thwarted attack.

The Trumpian propaganda solution was to say 76 missiles went into the cancer reasearch facility.

About Those 'Nice, New, Smart' Missiles And The 'Chemical Weapons' Sites in Syria

https://www.sott.net/article/382908-About-Those-Nice-New-Smart-Missiles-And-The-Chemical-Weapons-Sites-in-Syria

From the link - Where did the missles go?

"So the question is; what happened to the rest of Trump's 'nice new and smart' missiles?

The Russians have an answer. According to their radar data on the event, 6 other airbases and airports were also targeted. Why didn't the Pentagon include those in its report on the strikes?

Duwali airbase - 4 missiles fired, 4 shot down

Dumayr airbase - 12 missiles fired, 12 shot down

Baley airbase - 18 missiles fired, 18 shot down

Shayrat airbase - 12 missiles fired, 12 shot down

Marj Ruhayyil airbase - 18 missiles fired, 18shot down

Damascus international airport - 4 missiles fired, 4 shot down

On reflection, those nice new smart shiny sparkling spiffing thoroughly wunnerful missiles are to all intents and purposes just an unmanned aircraft, not moving particularly quickly. Really quite easy to shoot down I should imagine. So, that's were $140m plus the outlay for the launch platforms and operation went. Up in smoke, and probably well short of target.

Mind you, if they did get the university then big pharma will be happy - they wouldn't want those 3 new Syrian cancer drugs catching on!

Yeah - brilliant! WTF do the doctors in Douma know about what happened . . . you dumbass POS.

The doctors are genuine - unless your dumbass has some evidence they aren't.

And if you are so fucked up that you think some Brit newspaper is going to lie for Putin and Assad, your IQ is lower than whale shit at the bottom of the ocean.

These are eyewitnesses - and not just them; count the civilians interviewed as well. You think if there had been a CW attack they wouldn't know about it?

And speaking of what we know, have you bothered to look at the stories in ZH showing all the "behind the scenes" prep for staging these events?

Shitheads like you are beyond the pale.

In other words, keep at it until the lie can stick.  They are still looking for all of them weapons of mass destruction in Iraq that were never there either. And we'll never know the truth about 9/11 either.  Remember, we went by what the government told us back then too.  They will keep lying and lying in order to fulfill their agenda. Stop believing them and look to alternative news sources.  This reporter just confirmed what they were telling us all along.

Trump has no excuse unless information is kept from him.

The terrorists in east ghouta just prior to this 'gas' event, fired on Damascus market, killing 12 civilians, and injuring 40. The  injured had broken spines, were paralysed, had lost limbs or damaged so many had limbs  amputated. Were men women and children out shopping.

This prompted the retaliatory  missiles from Damascus and the dust. This was no accident. It was the expected retaliation by Damascus to act as a cover for a false flag.

The shelling from militants in east ghouta on Damascus had gone on for years, initially barrel bombs and then  precision strikes like this on a crowded ciivilian area. The white helmuts and rest of the militants got out quickly under a pre agreed arrangement and were bussed away after the false flag  video.

They wanted to test Russian anti-air systems prior to considering an attack on Russian forces. Oh crap, they work really well, even during a saturation attack. Now I suppose they can sit and wait and wait and wait, to see how good their defensive system are against Russian offensive systems.

All that is going on now, straight up gaslighting, this was not the least of three attack plans, this was only the first attack plan and based upon success or failure the next plan would be implemented, an attack on Russian forces in Syria or a bullshit caimpagn to lull the Russians into a false sense of security whilst the next attacks are planned, yeah, the Russian government doe not buy it for a second.

As I posted on another ZH thread, in payload it equates to about 20 WW2 Wellington bombers. That is a very small raid, then or now. That the number that got through appears equivalent or less than in WW2 tells us something too. It tells us that cruise missiles = slow but very expensive unmanned aircraft that can't evade when locked-onto and are basically easy pickings. Oh, and their payload is tiny unless nuclear-tipped.

If Trump were smart and capable of playing 3D Chess as some have suggested, he would use this as an opportunity to "Clean House" at the CIA, NSA and DIA by exposing them as Treasonous. Trump should go on Fox News and offer an official apology to the duly elected President Assad and the Syrian people for his ill advised rush to judgement that lead to the launching missiles. In the course of offering condolences, explain that as Commander-in-Chief, he was misled to believe the fabricated evidence and lies orchestrated by the intelligence community and the Military Industrial Complex (MIC) and vow to hold those responsible, accountable for their actions. I.E. Prison time and/or executions for Treason. This is a perfect opportunity for Trump to regain control while hanging some swamp creatures at the same time (Win/Win). If the U.S. and it's Middle East allies really want a pipeline, they can bypass Syria by laying a stretch of pipe in the north-eastern part of the Mediterranean from Lebanon northward. Sure, it's more expensive to do so, but war is expensive as well.

Truth, not jew supremacist fiction!

One laughs at Trump the Orange Jew's "invocation of the word “dictator” to make all good “democratic” Americans hate Assad.

A “dictator,” I suppose, means any national leader who does not take his marching orders from Jews, does not install Jewish banks to drain the wealth of his working people, and does not permit Jewish oligarchs like Blankfein and Soros and Epstein to set up their media, geopolitical, and financial institutions to bribe and intimidate the lawmakers and  control the behavior and thinking of the population."
