German Air Force Only Has Four Combat-Ready Jets In Case Of Emergency

Germany better hope that Europe's various artificial war-deterring monetary, customs, economic, political and so forth "unions" hold for the foreseeable future, as the alternative could be dire.

According to Spiegel, only four of the Luftwaffe’s state-of-the-art Eurofighter jets are currently in good enough shape to be called on in the event of an invasion of German airspace, leaving the German armed forces to once again have to fight off allegations that their forces are not fit for combat.

A Eurofighter jet

Theoretically the Luftwaffe has 128 Eurofighters - which make up the majority of Germany’s air combat force - ready for deployment. But in a Wednesday report on Spiegel, a defect in the jets’ self-defense systems means that in practice only four them can be sent on mission.

The defect concerns a sensor on the jet’s wing which alerts pilots to an incoming attack. Technicians noticed a year and a half ago that the sensors were not staying cool during flights. It was then discovered that the cooling liquid had been leaking out of the pods the sensors were housed in.

Obtaining a replacement has not been easy, however. The reason: a special seal is required to hold the liquid inside, but the company that produced the seal was quietly sold off without the supplier informing the German Defense Ministry.

Germany's lack of military preparedness could also infuriate Trump as it means Germany can not even fulfill its basic NATO obligations. Europe's biggest economy has pledged to its NATO partners that it could deploy 82 Eurofighters in the event of a military crisis. In reality, it could not even do 5% of that.

* * *

For years the German armed forces (Bundeswehr) have been dogged by allegations they are not ready for real life missions.

Earlier this year a damning parliamentary report concluded that the state of the military preparedness had deteriorated further in recent years: "The army's readiness to deploy has not improved in recent years, but instead has got even worse," Parliamentary Armed Forces Commissioner Hans-Peter Bartels said as he presented his annual findings at a press conference in February.

The lack of a credible German airforce follows a similar involuntary phase out of Germany's submarine capabilities. By the end of 2017, all Germany's submarines were in drydock for repairs, while in recent months there have been periods where none of the air force's 14 A400M transport planes were airworthy.

The report also found wider problems in Luftwaffe. Air force pilots are unable to train as their aircraft are grounded for maintenance for much of the year, the report noted.

Spending on defense has been cut repeatedly since 1990 and the end of the Cold War, leaving the army with often outdated equipment and the defense industry unable to suddenly increase production to fill the gaps.

While the probability of a major war breaking out in Europe at this moment is slim, Europe's biggest economy being unable to even modestly satisfy NATO requirements could be just the catalyst that sets Trump off the rails during his next meeting with Merkel, having repeatedly laid out his demands that Germany and other NATO member states step up their defense spending to the recommended 2% of GDP threshold.

Well, perhaps Germany should stop spending so much money on importing cheap labor for their corporations, and focus on actually having a national defense.

Either that, or they need to start paying to have the US doing it for them. The era of subsidizing Europe's national security needs to end.

The Germany that could have saved the planet was completely obliterated in May, 1945.  The Germany we have now is ZOG, like the entire west.

If Germans have to scramble 4 jets, and they all get shot down, the heebs will be dancing in the streets and mocking the murder of their slaves.

They're "Eurofighters" ... akin to the euro currency, made to be a sign of "European Unity" and literally dick to do with an air superiority fighter.

Its essentially a target for everyone other air superiority fighter in the world, save the Mirage which is even shittier and the basis for the Eurofighter.

You guys here just do not understand the real problem. It is not an accident that our military is dysfunctional and depleted. Also it is not an accident that we get overrun by the lowest-IQ people in the world that very surely will cost more and generate more trouble than they'd ever benefit german society.

Germany is not "souverän" - hence is NOT allowed to increase its military capabilities.

It is all by design. Our traitorous politicians are just being played and do what they are told to act according to the PLAN.

~"German Air Force Only Has Four Combat-Ready Jets In Case Of Emergency"~

This should not prove to be a problem. The invasion is land-based and..., the horde is already inside the gates!

~"You can't have an air force when you have hungry young muslims that need food to rape."~

My point exactly. Germany, (and Europe in general), has a "Muslim Problem".

Why be sad, look on the bright side https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ep9Vzb6R_58 and this whole thing is really, really monty pythonesque. The measure of the quality of military hardware regardless of it's cost, of the west in reality is really a measure of their actual intent to go to war against anyone other than the most militarily incapable countries.

Yeah, the intent to go to actual real war, where the weapons fly all over, into everyone's capital cities, less than zero, a whole bunch less than zero. In fact like small noisy yapping dogs, the more noise they make, the less war they make and they make the most just before they run away.

Sure they'll fire missiles into countries unable to defend themselves, they get off on it, you know fire some missiles, take some oxycontin and some Viagra and then abuse some underage prostitutes (all paid for by the war industrial complex), really get off on that shite but real war where some fucker targets missiles at their ass, on no, not on, not at all, no, no, no, just absolutely no. Fake war sure, mass killing of nobodies, all fun and games, real war absolutely not.

Proof of all this, is the massive profit margins on crappy equipment and not enough military personal to use that, stockpiled until scrapped equipment, scrapped because more new useless crap needs to be bought. It feels real weird at times, those conflict feelings, listen to the news and real war seems imminent but look at the facts, look at the numbers and you realise no matter the noise you hear in public space, the reality is we have never been further from world war because luckly the technocracy that is Russia and the fascist state that is China do not want or need war. It is only the kakistocracy of the west that wants to make noise about war because scare the voters and more profits for the military industrial complex, war noise not actual world war, that terrifies them, regardless of the lies.

They save billions of Euro by allowing the US to fill the defense role. It's smart from their perspective.

But think about it in terms of NATO as an alliance. Most nations in NATO don't have adequate forces to defend their own territories in a real war, meaning they won't be able to allocate any forces to an offensive. All offensives will have to be spearheaded by US forces, and the defense of NATO nations will have to be covered by US forces. It's a serious handicap.

Maybe the Germans are smart. Go along, as little as possible,  with the insane US war industry which produces destruction, but spend German money of stuff that brings benefits to Germans, like free education, healthcare and cleaner energy. Let the morons, check the chart, bankrupt themselves while Germans prosper. Good move. Russia won't invade, so why bother following the lunatics in DC?

US foreign policy? Educate yourself.  The Western Private Central Banking Cartel is run out of the City of London.  They own / control the Federal Reserve.  It is that cabal that decides the fate of nations.

The great epoch of the USA was between the time of Lincoln and WW1.  That was brought to an end by the formation of the Federal Reserve, institution of the income tax and the luring of the USA into WW1.

During this great epoch the USA helped Germany and Japan develop. But as you know the British colonial model does not like the development of the colonies. They should be left powerless in their way of thinking.  Thus who did the USA fight when finally the banking cartel took full control?  What a coincidence!  Germany and Japan.

Problem: Faulty seals in sensor pods; manufacturer of seals no longer in business

Solution: Reverse engineer seal leveraging German Industry - put a shit-ton of people on this problem if you need the seals quickly

Ok, you can pay me my consulting fee now. Seriously!? German industry can't produce these seals? How about the Porsche factory in Stuttgart? I'm pretty sure they can produce hi-temp seals. The head of the Luftwaffe should be fired for letting it get to this point.
