Kent State Grad Takes Aim At Anti-Gun Policies

A recent Kent State University graduate is blasting her school’s anti-gun policies in a flurry of tweets that have quickly gone viral.

“Now that I graduated from @KentState, I can finally arm myself on campus,”  Kaitlin Bennett tweetedon May 13.

“I should have been able to do this as a student, especially since 4 unarmed students were shot and killed by the government on this campus.”

Calling for #CampusCarryNow, the 22-year-old tweeted a photo of her strutting through the Kent State campus with an AR-10 slung across her back.

“I have no apologies for my graduation photos,” Bennett wrote in a follow-up tweet.

“As a woman, I refuse to be a victim & the second amendment ensures that I don't have to be.”

Bennett, who just graduated with a BA in biology, told Campus Reform in an interview that her tweets were inspired by her longstanding concern with how Kent State’s policies reduce the ability of students to protect themselves on campus.

“Kent State University is a school in which the government shot four unarmed students 48 years ago,” Bennett said, citing the 1970 incident during which the National Guard open fired on a crowd of Vietnam War protesters.

“I believe not only that those four students would still be alive today had they had the right to carry on campus, but that students today would be much safer,” Bennett explained.

In a statement to Campus Reform, however, school spokesman Eric Mansfield suggested that students have absolutely no reason to be in possession of a firearm, citing that the campus is consistently ranked as one of the safest in Ohio.

“The university has a full-time, certified police force of more than 30 sworn officers who protect the campus,” Mansfield added.

“These officers are visible, well-trained and on duty 24/7 in support of students, staff, and faculty.”

But campus police can’t always intervene fast enough, Bennett said, arguing that “pulling out a gun is easier than dialing 911.”

School policy currently prohibits all students from both concealed and open-carry. Only non-student guests are permitted to be in possession of a firearm. And though this policy may be well-intentioned, Bennett says that it suggests that students are less deserving of protection.

“Universities that prohibit students from defending themselves but allow guests to do so are in a sense saying that they don’t value the safety of their students,” she argued.

“Why are guests more important than the students who are paying thousands of dollars to attend the university?”

After graduation, Bennett says she plans to stay in the area. During her time at Kent State, she founded a chapter of Liberty Hangout, a small libertarian media outlet dedicated to promoting peace, prosperity, and property rights.

“If students thought my political activism at Kent will be over now that I have graduated, they are wrong,” she said.

“I will still be in the area and intend on returning to campus to assist with Liberty Hangout at Kent State, and record videos for Only this time, I won’t have to worry about being expelled for expressing my views.”

Some people have said that open carry demonstrations are over the top, counter-productive or generally douchey...

I don't think so at all and I see exactly what open carry is all about.  The social marxists want to disappear the guns from sight before they come to physically take them.  This is their slight-of-hand mind tricks at work.  The open carry is throwing the guns right back in people's faces saying "here we are with the guns, your move".

I happen to be in the gun industry and can tell you a lot of us are tired of this grand standing, over the top bullshit.

Most of the goobers out there with a gun aren't going to do jack shit with them....but take selfies.... and walk around dreaming they are some badass from some movie they watched.

Listen America.....and you so called Americans....your government has broken the law in multiple ways on multiple occasions.  You are being taxed without representation to a degree that makes King George look like a libertarian, free market, capitalist.  Your government is stealing from you, funding illegal wars, promoting foreign activities, supporting UN initiatives that are completely anti-Constitutional.  Your 4th and 5th amendment rights are in shreds.  You have to pay off your congressmen through your NRA bag-men to try and "keep" your 2nd amendment rights.  We are illegally spied on, lied to, and murdered without due process by those hired and elected to be our leaders and law enforcement.

The wealth of your great grandchildren has already been spent by corrupt politicians.  Your property is taxed more and more each year to cover the irresponsible cost of ridiculous public pension plans.  Your money.....which equals your time....with equals your destroyed by those who would devalue it for the benefit of a very small group at the expense of millions or hard working people.  Your government refuses to protect our borders and allows illegals to come in, take our jobs, rape our women, kill our sons, rob our property, spread diseases, and cost our infrastructure billions......hell, the pussies in DC won't even make them learn English in our TAX FUNDED PUBLIC SCHOOLS.  Our government and its corporate pimps have colluded to ship our manufacturing and jobs over seas to utilize the slave labor of the Chinese and Asians.  And then to top it all off, they want to send our sons to the ME to kill and be killed because Assad, Putin, and Iran are the greatest threat to Americans!!!!!!!!  REALLY?!

And you think it impresses any of us that this little candy ass, silver spoon chick puts a rifle on her back and takes some pictures with it to post on whateverTube to get some clicks?  Oh, she's a real badass tough guy!  Gonna stand up for her rights, you betcha!

Riddle me this you bunch of pussified sheeple, just what would our government have to do that would constitute crossing a line that would compel you to take up armed resistance?  "Molon Labe" my ass!  They have already taken them and take them everyday somewhere in this country.  You gonna wait until they shoot you down like a dog..... like they did Lavoy Finicum? Oh, I see, you are waiting until they do that to your Lavoy Finicum?

I know, right about now your little incensed ass is thinking, "Oh, yeah, well what are you going to do about it with all your tough talk?"  Well, I'll tell ya.  I damn sure am not going to go out and get myself killed fighting for a country that no longer exist.  A country is people and America is an idea.  An idea that has been lost on its people long ago.  When I find some real Americans that want to take their country back and realize is will take more than a vote.....for a dickheaded, candyass, billionaire from NY...... to get it done, then maybe I will consider orphaning my children and widowing my wife to fight for a country that stands for freedom and liberty again.

But as long as "freedom and liberty" is measured by AR selfies and grandstanding by the NRA, I'd rather go fishing.

This is meaningless bullshit that gets unwarranted meaningless attention.  None of you twits have addressed the facts that I posted about our country going to hell in a hand basket.....but you want to act like this numskull is doing something meaningful by walking around with a gun on her back.

A sad state of would be a better use of time.

Ok. I am going to admit I was being a little hard on this girl. The subject just hits a nerve.

Example: Dickhead Glenn Beck does a commercial for Bond Arms, extols the virtues of the 2nd Amendment, and then goes on a 30 monologue about how "violence is never the answer". Then will go on a rant about the virtues of the Founding Fathers and how brave, noble, and courageous they were.....but "violence is never the answer". Then don't use that 2nd Amendment.....because it will require violence. Violence seemed to be the answer in 1776.

Things like this chick and her rifle are symbolism over substance to me. Way too much of that in our day and time.

Virtually any male could bum rush her, tackle her, knock her out, and take her rifle away after she is unconscious. However, if she were trained with a handgun, it would be much more difficult, and the woman be more likely to get off a shot or two to slow down or stop any attacker.  Love the sentiment and example she is showing though.  I have three daughters, (only one interested in guns), but I don't think any of them should be defenseless if they want to be armed.

What's a pity is that no one seems to give a shit about the fact that a teacher describes the shooter as dressed in full body armor and helmet and that none of that stuff was recovered from the crime scene. Cruz walked out in the maroon T-shirt he was driven to school in by an uber driver that says all he was carrying was a back pack.

We have a video of 3 LEO's carrying a heavy duffel bag out the side door of a crime scene minutes after the police gain control of the school and load it into the back of an UNMARKED white truck. Then we see the driver toss a couple of paper bags out of the truck window to be scooped up by one of the LEO's.

WTF is going on here? Why was it reported that there was going to be a code red school shooting drill that day? Why did the Secret Service visit this school a couple of months earlier and change security protocols?

In other words, major inconsistencies in the official narrative are easily revealed but no one seems to care enough to see what the fuck actually happened.

EXACTLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot find the word NEED anywhere in the 2 Amendment. Damn I am so happy to see another person read the fucking thing!!

For several years now, when assholes ask me why do I NEED an AR-15 I have consistently answered , very politly may I add"

"I have no need for any type of firearm, none whatsoever. BUT The 2nd Amendment makes no mention of the NEED to own firearms It simply says it is my RIGHT."

Anyway +10,000 UP VOTES to YOU!!!!
