"I Own That" - Peter Navarro Apologizes For Trudeau Tirade

Two days after Trump trade advisor Peter Navarro unleashed verbal hell on Canadian PM Trudeau:

"There’s a special place in hell for any foreign leader that engages in bad faith diplomacy with President Donald J. Trump and then tries to stab him in the back on the way out the door...that’s what bad faith Justin Trudeau did with that stunt press conference."

During a Fox News interview:

He has apologized for his outburst.

During an interview at The Wall Street Journal's CFO conference, Navarro said:

"I used language that was inappropriate, and basically lost the power of that message. That was my mistake, those were my words."

“I own that... We need to focus on policy differences."

We are sure the calls for his resignation will not stop.

Was I the only one that was not impressed by Navarro doing his best Trump impression?!  Making fun of Trudeau should be like shooting fish in a barrel but no, he managed to screw that up royally.  Navarro should stick to the damn script......pretty dumb move even for an academic.

Navarro isn't a guy I'd trust for any reason.  His antics with Mnuchin exposed deep weakness in the US trade position vis-a-vis China, and the Chinese don't miss slip-ups like that.  Now he's gone way the fuck overboard regarding Canada, with whom the US maintains a healthy trade surplus, by the way.

Navarro's just an "Advisor," so he really doesn't have a job that requires that he actually do anything.  That's as much responsibility as he seems able to handle.

Trump's style has always been to have a bunch of incompetent and belligerent assholes around him at all times so he seems reasonable by comparison, and if that works for him that's OK with me.  But you don't let the likes of Cohen, Giuliani, Navarro, Bolton etc. actually do anything that matters because they are fuckups, and fuckups fuck things up like clockwork.

Trump never cleans up his messes, so he doesn't care.  I do have to clean up my messes, so I have to steer clear of the kinds of people Trump loves to surround himself with.

Why the apologies? In politics the words are all theater. The trade imbalance between the two nations is very low and depending on the source of the info there may not even be one. The problem is that Trudeau did not support the US regarding Iran and fell in with the EU crowd. That is what probably pissed off the Trump Zio warmongers.  If the two leaders really wanted to cooperate more with each other for the benefit of their people, they would stage a war whereby US forces would land in Ottawa and burn it down, and Canadian forces would land in Washington and do the same. Afterwards, the armies would return to their own nations and everyone would live happily ever after.

If you fail as an Academic because your conclusions diverge from the approved narrative, that's one thing.  If you fail as an Academic because you're not capable of intellectual discipline, are consumed with rage and can't control your tongue, so you constantly offend people for no good reason and chase away reputable people who might stick up for you if you weren't such a deranged asshole; well, that's not something to brag about so much.

Oh, but no sarc tag is justified here. He *actually* is a massive beta cuck, no grit, no alphaness, everythi g he does designed to please others with no regard to the integrity he never grew, folding over to suck feminist balls and treacherous multicultural commie do-gooders. The guy would kill himself for being such a weak cunt if he had any understanding of the context and the import of his faggottry.

These guys are f.ucking idiots and not professionals. Our government is increasingly run by a bunch of hacks!

I would have fired any prick on my staff who made a public statement such as that. Navarro & Kudlow made the whole process look like Amateur Hour - or, perhaps that was the intent.

"I own that" seems to be the mantra of Trumps senior staff when they royally f.uck up. Remember John Kelly with the immigration fiasco at Homeland - "I own that". Making that statement makes it all ok??

Problem with that approach is that it creates politicians who never admit they screwed up. They simply pretend that everything they said was perfect.

I'd rather hire someone who screws up and then takes responsibility for it and sincerely apologizes than someone who screws up and tries to cover it up.

Never apologize to socialist scumbags. They say many worse things everyday before they even have breakfast.

Classic Trump: "I guess Justin Trudeau doesn't realize Air Force One has, like, 20 televisions on board so I could see him saying these things as we were taking off."

"I used language that was inappropriate .... I should have repeated what the President said..

Justin is a fucking backstabbing pussy"

I own that.

Peter Navarro is a douchebag. He and Trump don't run the world, they think they're more powerful than they actually are, they're Paper Tigers.

Navarro is already backtracking on his hot air because Canada will strike back with their own tariffs. It's Trade Agreement 101 - you impose tariffs, others can do the same, hurting yourself in the end.

It's difficult to fully express the extensive stupidity of Trudeau. His old man (and this is open to question given that his mother put out for everyone but the Pope) was a member of the Canadian Communist Party and did all he could to screw up the Country (much of it similar to what we are seeing in Europe , the USA etc (globalization tactics). Justin (between his various performances) is pretty much the same with even less intelligence and common sense. The usual suspects were gulled into voting for this moron and others of the Liberal Party. The next election may change the Party in power but there always seems to be this inclination to weakness when it comes to fixing the inherent problems. President Trump, with all his foibles , is a refreshing change and offers hope that elected leaders and Parties in other countries and organizations can be influenced and follow DJT's lead-MAGA ! We (Canada) and the rest of the world need it to happen .
