The Migration 'Problem' In Europe Is Unsolvable, Here's Why

Authored by Mike Shedlock via MishTalk,

The migration problem in the EU is unsolvable. Competing political positions explain why.

Five-Point Synopsis

  1. Germany Merkel's CDU: Seek a consensus solution under existing EU rules.

  2. Germany Seehofer's CSU: Turn them back at the border (i.e. Send them back to Italy through Austria)

  3. Italy Five Star and the League: Change the "Dublin Rules" which state migrants must apply for asylum in the first country in which they land. Italy wants to distribute existing migrants throughout EU. It also supports "safe areas" in Africa.

  4. Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia: All refuse new migrants

  5. Austria: Austria's Prime Minister, Sebastian Kurz, wants quotas and "safe areas" in refugees' countries of origin. In a controversial twist, he said Brussels should organize it and "back it militarily."

There are other positions such as that of Barcelona's Mayor who openly welcomes migrants.

In contrast, Viktor Orban, Hungary’s prime minister, accuses migrants of destroying “Christian Europe”.

On July 1, Austria will take over the position of the Presidency of the EU Council. The position rotates every six months.

Austria's stated goals on March 1 included this item: The fight against illegal immigration by securing external borders.

Not Solvable!

Anyone who thinks this is solvable under existing EU rules is downright crazy. Heck, it is not solvable at all.

Yet, Merkel was foolish enough to ask CSU leader Horst Seehofer for two weeks to solve the problem.

Under German law, Seehofer has the right to implement policy in Bavaria. He threatened to "send them back". Also under German law, Merkel can fire Seehofer.

If she fires Seehofer, as I expect, it will be the end of the CDU-CSU coalition.

And by foolishly asking for time (and getting it), Merkel, not Seehofer, will take the blame.

Her own stubborn arrogance will have done her in.

Libertarian Position

Some readers suggest that open immigration is a Libertarian position. Indeed, it is. But free benefits are not.

We can condense the EU's unsolvable problem down to one statement: Open migration is not compatible with free education, free services, free lodging, etc.

I have some US friends who will disagree. But the US also has another barrier: oceans. The EU is reachable by land or the Mediterranean Sea.

For discussion, please see Trump's Immoral Immigration Tactics: What's the Libertarian View?

Don't Downplay the US Role in This Mess

US warmongering policies in Libya, Syria, and Iraq kicked off the current wave of migrants into the EU.

It's easy (and correct) to blame Merkel, but few point to the US for its role in this madness.

That is true.  The EU is fucked and I don't see a concerted effort by the EU militaries to stop the migration.  Hence, there is no military or political solution.  Ergo, brace for a massive civil war all over Europe within 10 years.  Likely that the US will get sucked into the EU war as we always do.  Let's see if the millenials are the first generation to tell the US government to go get fucked.  Some of the folks in the Vietnam generation did,  but most of them folded and accepted conscription or even volunteered for the Vietnam war.  It's going to be a nasty war.  There will be no 'front lines' or trenches like previous wars.  Just 'walled off' cities and communities, very feudal, actually.  Lots of disease and starvation when the social programs break down.

Funny one, you really believe it?

The Bavarian borders have been pushed too far to the west and north. Half of my home country Baden-Württemberg shown to belong to Bavaria, while it is actually the other way round - Bavaria occupying the eastern part of the Swabian region which by right belongs to Baden-Württemberg.

The psychotics who changed Bavaria's borders are the same psychotics who are changing it again as we watch.

The first band of psychos were no where near as destructive as the current gang.

Instead of giving an ounce of thought to the original malefactors it would be better to figure out a way how to get these freeloaders home.

All the boats participating in this NWO scam should be seized and sunk as soon as they enter national waters, and the passengers fed and transferred to waiting boats or planes to bring them home.

Any migrants who managed to make it into a host country should be reviewed for any crimes and if found sent home immediately.

Again the common people everywhere are being played by the fucking elites. We know that most of the so-call "refugees" who have been herded into Europe have been induced, inticed, and even forced to migrate from Syria and Iraq. Then with a lesser number we know that the people from the African regions have also been inticed through fake social media and promises of jobs from Soros NGO's and other similar organization to get into boats paid for by the organizations to flood into Europe.

The entire media focus, even this site, is then focused on the reaction in the host nations with leaders either welcoming them with Soros-style open arms or with the people welcoming them with pikes and military arms. That is the news and the controversy is all intended to create domestic turmoil. If the media was honest it would focus on the what has led so many people to be deliberately herded together and induced to migrate to Europe. They would focus on the false promises and where they came from and why.

The instigation of these onslaughts comes from our Western nations and it comes from our eilites with the assistance of our illustrious intelligence communities. Hungary and Russia have put a price on the head of Soros, but notice that he walks about freely and is well received in the US, the UK and other cabal controlled Western nations. This should tell honest people something not about Soros which we already know, but a lot about the ruling elites of our nations who have engineered this mess from the start.

Dear Mike Shedlock...

This is NOT immigration... ?

This is an Invasion... This is "SLOW" war... !

It is NOT a Libertarian Position to surrender to an Invasion...

It is a War set in motion by Zionists versus the Western European/US Nations...

Zionists are winning right now.. Period... But You can see opinion is changing very fast.

But the Facts Stand... and The Facts are obvious now...

I do not wish anyone harm... But enough is enough...

The way the U.S. are moving, education-wise and such, I would put them into the category "third world" too. So absolutely OK if illegals go from one third world country to another one.

You got nuclear weapons, so can't be third world? Well, India and Pakistan have them too, and NK.

Can't build decent houses, have shoddy "pickup" cars (in other third world countries called "technicals", good only to mount a machine gun), corrupt elites, and not that long ago slavery.

Only some educated non-third-world islands to be found in the U.S.

No solution? BS! There is the machine gun. Make sure pictures of the death and carnage get back home to the shitholes they came from. Make sure they know of the ruthless, heartless King that will slaughter them mercilessly, should they try such a stupid move again. Make sure there are hours long videos broadcast of the crucifixions of the White NGO workers who foment this nonsense.

One of those ruthless communist tyrants got it right when they said political power comes out of the barrel of a gun. We all live under the threat of being machine gunned to death at a moments notice by our own government. That works when there is cohesiveness in society and everyone shares a common view of the distinction between a good citizen and a criminal or enemy. That is being broken down by the likes of Soros "open society" and other evil agendas masquerading as good.

They all want to go to the UK, Germany, Sweden or Denmark for their rich bennies and clueless white sheeple. No matter where they're sent, that's where they'll all end up as long as there's 'freedom of movement'.

Greece, Italy, Spain and France are only their staging areas; that is where at least 15K of them come from into MuttiLand every month (with doors slamming on their butts as they leave)- though Bavaria has made its position clear.

Italy knows this; their distribution plan for the EU is a ruse, and they know it will never happen. The native people of the UK have made its future position plain, and Denmark is decreasingly a des res for them, as bennies have been cut.

So the 'winners' will continue to be the IVth Reich and the Land of the Midnight Sun, until national borders are re-established (and they will be): then the real fun will begin, when they and their hosts are surrounded - by very vindictive populist neighbors.

Greece and Italy could be liberated within a matter of months by NATO if it did what the preamble of its treaty says on the tin:

The Parties to this Treaty reaffirm their faith in the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations and their desire to live in peace with all peoples and all governments.
They are determined to safeguard the freedom, common heritage and civilisation of their peoples, founded on the principles of democracy, individual liberty and the rule of law. They seek to promote stability and well-being in the North Atlantic area.

They are resolved to unite their efforts for collective defence and for the preservation of peace and security. They therefore agree to this North Atlantic Treaty:

Years ago, I was active in the Libertarian Party.  Your characterization of "an ideological dumpster fire" is/was spot on.

Fortunately, no one actually cares about the libertarian position on open borders.

God I miss Sam. I miss Bill Hicks too, although I think he'd have mostly come down on the side of "we gotta help 'em." Which I'm not unsympathetic to in the absolute; after all, most of their misery is of FedGov's making, bankster puppets that they are. But We The People never asked for ANY of this shit. Goddamn FDR letting the commies in - and fucking Wilson handing them control of the USD. Traitors to not only the Republic, but to humanity as a whole.

Everyone wants to say it is the US at the root of the problem. You have to go back further than that the end of WW1 and WW2 for the dividing the middle east and then more recently when all these colonies thought they could do without Europe's rule. Everywhere outside the US and Europe they take over and are unable to sustain their former wealth and regress into their former primitive tribal divisions.  The ones that are actually allies (Kurdistan) (South Vietnam) we screw over for political points at home and abroad and lack of spine.

And they're still doing it.  I see public schools having children raise 45K to send to Africa, teaching kids to contribute to this idiocy.  We are encouraging people with an average IQ below 70, with hardly any resources to continually breed when they are already having 8-12 kids on their own.  How stupid can liberals be?  Let's examine IQ by country:  Take note when you get into these African countries and Haiti, you're literally talking about the dumbest people on the planet.  So why would any thinking individual want them having more children?  These people are legally retarded.   Do other countries pay for and encourage their mentally challenged to breed?  Why do liberals do it in these countries then?  There has to be balance.  If you live in a country with not enough resources, don't have 8-12 kids.  And if you're too stupid to figure out that's a bad idea, then mother nature needs to take over.  IQ matters.  What are these people going to do when automation takes over with an average IQ in the 60s?  They will have nothing to do except cannibalize each other for survival.  If liberals used their brains, they'd understand the true cruelty is helping these people delay the inevitable consequences of illogical thought.  And it's not their fault.  They simply don't have the mental faculties to think it through.  But the people encouraging their reproduction do, and I hold them culpable.

Tech advances and western socialist programs have reduced the desire of western cultures to have children.

All socialist programs are ponzi schemes, requiring more people to pay more taxes in order to meet promised obligations.

Socialist leaders sell immigration to the voters on a basis of "charity", "kindness", and "its for the children" so they can grow the population and remain in power.

The MIC-Banksters continue to support the socialist leaders because they are easy to control through campaign donations and have huge budgets to spend, creating massive profits.

Continuous fiat expansion through debt creation lubricates the MIC-Bankster profit machine.

I agree with you, but Europeans generally do not have the balls to kill people when necessary.  They think the 'political process' is going to solve this one.  In fact, the naivete of most Europeans was why the EU was born in the first place.  There is no political solution here without the military muscle to physically remove all the immigrants.  They are not just going to get up and leave.

The libertarian position on immigration is stupid.

It is so concerned with economic freedom (of people not even yet here) that it ignores the freedom of me and others to consider ourselves as having an identity worth preserving.

It’s obvious that even without freebies, open borders means the 3rd world floods into Europe and the US, Canada etc, in time destroying those places - what made them destinations in the first place.

Libertarian thinking doesnt always get it right - no one system does.  People should stop being unironically AnCap silly idealists after college.

The country, the culture, the ‘tribe’ are not the same thing as the state.  Sometimes the state is the means by which the majority get to do something and yes, sometimes, majority wishes should rule...  a minority should not be able to drag us into war, or redefine gender, or make us accept a world where there isn’t a native white majority country anywhere at all because it’s “racist” for whites, and only whites, to not eagerly commit demographic suicide to please anti-White racists.

In NYC Democrat Crowley in House for decades lost to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a former organizer for Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign, ran on a sharply liberal agenda, including abolishing ICE and making Medicare a universal program and government jobs for everyone.

This is Latino / Black / Dominican district - they want "welfare" for ALL /  free medical care / public schools for unlimited spawn which is baby sitting for 68 IQ for 12 years - no Cops  / no ICE  = No borders / no jails

we are at the end game as they take majority - there are no assets that cant be property taxed to oblivion nor income tax too high - same for sales tax now that internet is taxable - will go to 15% equivalent to a VAT

with AI and nothing to do - they will demand anything - it is the end of civilization as these people want to be......... fed forever

Either it was too many bombs or too few... Because now Merkel's "Wir schaffen das..." is being disproven ever more clearly with each passing day. On the African continent millions more would like to / are on the move north to the lands of plenty where, after a tipping point, nothing worthwhile will be left. The only workable solution would be to solve the problems locally so that people can live in peace where they are... ...but that ain't gonna happen anytime soon as the current chaos in Syria et al. was orchestrated by the West in the first place. So yes, there are no workable solutions right now (neither legally nor practically) and they will just try to meddle along on a daily basis until things will get out of control big time. Only Hungry, Austria and Italy seem to try and take a stand, but their protectionism will soon be copied by more until the status quo breaks. Something nasty is coming down the pike.
