Mapping Where The Most Refugees Live

With populist movements currently resurgent across Europe, refugees remain the single most discussed topic in the Union’s political discourse.

However,  as Statista's Patrick Wagner notes, countries with the most prominent xenophobic political movements do not tend to host the largest share of asylum seekers.

You will find more infographics at Statista

Our chart shows that even though Germany tops the ranking when it comes to the total number of people seeking refuge in the respective country, it does not come first when looking at the share of refugees in comparison to a country’s total inhabitants.

In Italy - ranked fourth when it comes to GDP in the EU - only 0.5 percent of all inhabitants are seeking refuge.

Even though Data suggests that in Latvia, almost 12 percent of the population may count as refugees, almost all of them are stateless persons who did not flee from conflict.

I wonder if the problem with refugees is that they are concentrated in a small number of locations in the countries where they have sought refuge?

Once they form self-protection groups, they have little immediate need to change their behaviours to match the local culture.

The Xenophobia is a natural outcome when an immigrant group does not adjust behaviours to match local customs and mores.

As usual, they totally miss the point by muddying the water with non-muslims.

The problem is SINGLE MUSLIM MEN, not some leftover Russians from WW2.

Clear out all the other data and show only single Muslim men from the last 10-20 years. Then you have some data worth looking at...

It sure is a pretty infographic tho.

eforce, you say "capitalism always needs more people" as if that were a good thing. Bringing foreigners into your country is always a recipe for eventual strife, even if they come for jobs. Despite your idyllic view of capitalism, resources always run out in a finite world, which means people are going to be anti-social eventually. Better to have it reach that point before your nation is flooded entirely.

I actually dislike foreigners. Nothing wrong with that, either. I do not want my country filled with people that aren't like me. I'm not trying to be cute and pretend they'd be fine if they ate bacon. They have their own countries, which they made the way it is and that is where they ought to stay. Let them be scientists and engineers over there.

Not quite, that figure includes Germans who fled Germany to Latvia, where there has always been a significant German diaspora. While the chart IS bullshit because since 2012 Germany has taken in 2.7 million refugees (all 16 states' figures added up) while 3.0 million Germans moved out (from the Meldeamt registries) due to the increased crime (as much as 60x pre-2012 levels) in the big cities.

Latvia has a large number of "stateless" ethnic Russians who aren't allowed to vote. I wonder if this is the reason for this skewed count. I have traveled to Riga many times and seen few immigrants. I have been through the bus station in Riga where you might find them traveling because of being autoless but don't see a noticeable amount.

Lithuania is damn cold and doesn't grant a decent allowance hence they don't want to come here unless they have relatives. I have seen them coming and going from Vilnius to Pabrade where there is a separate facility next to a national correctional center.  Few seen in the town of Pabrade or coming and going on the bus.

I didn't see this sentence in the article above until now:

"Even though Data suggests that in Latvia, almost 12 percent of the population may count as refugees, almost all of them are stateless persons who did not flee from conflict."

I have no idea who is behind this Statisica web site or what their agenda is, but "refugee" is not the same as "stateless persons".

If 12 percent of the population in Latvia and Estonia are ethnic Russians, without membership in any state, denied the vote in the countries where they were born, then I would say that Latvia and Estonia are ticking time bombs.  They don't need Nato to keep the Russians out, they need Nato to keep the Russians DOWN.

I recall reading something about a year ago or so that Latvia files these stateless russians as refugees in otder to get funding for them from EU. Some Italian party was raising this issue in EU parlament but it didn’t pick up and was “shoved under the table”. Of course those russians don’t see a dime of those funds.

You hit the nail on the fucking head. BAM!  American whites were so preoccupied in their manipulated hate for niggers, that the Jews advanced the migration of Spics and they never even noticed until it was too fucking late.

It was classic "Look Squirrel" politics and the average IQ never learn. The resident Trumptards on this forum are supporting Orange Jesus, who is an avowed servant, agent and facilitator to who you described as the shooter. But what does the support base of Orange Jesus do? Get angry and dodge the bullets.

These fools have willingly supported Orange Jesus, while strengthening the shooter, in the hope that they continue to dodge bullets. Arguing with these arseholes is a futile exercise.

Refugees (and indeed economic migrants) who are poorly educated and poorly skilled and who struggle to adopt the language and culture of their host country will always coalesce into what are best described as "ghettos" or hot-spots of other like-minded people. This is true of many immigrants living in a country which is very different to what they're used to and is especially true of Moslems who want to continue practicing their so-called religion of peace and in many cases have no intention of assimilating.

You end up with whole towns becoming virtually "Little Pakistan" or "China Town" or "Islamic" where the host language is hardly spoken or relegated to a second language.

There is very little that any host .gov can do about this.

Even if .gov spread the immigrants across the country when they arrive, it is virtually impossible to maintain that distribution without extraordinary surveillance and enforcement action etc.

In the West we need to understand and accept that many or most of these immigrants have no intention of improving themselves by assimilating and learning new languages or new skills but simply to live off the back of the host nation for an easier life.

It only takes their host nation to fall out with their country of birth for them to turn to crime or terrorism in retaliation.

You describe what I saw in the UK while living there.

I also met about 15 or more refugees while there and most of them became my friends - I used to study with a few (Soros paid them to study there)  and I met their other refugee friends.

I said it many times on ZH - I have never met a genuine refugee. All these refugees lied on their application - not one was genuine. A Serbian friend with his wife and kids lied that he was from Croatia (he was not   - and he never saw any war), a few Albanians lied that they were from Yugoslavia and prosecuted by Serbs (they never even went there and they loved me a Serb  - they got fake passports from mafia in Albania) etc etc...

I told this to a PhD feminist friend who worked at the time for Home Office - for that very department. She pretended she didn't hear what I said

Indeed. I believe the UK Home Office and its .gov masters know very well how immigrants tend to congregate and create close-nit communities instead of integrating into British society, because it's also exactly what Brits do when they go to live in Spain and elsewhere. The Spanish Costas are full of non-Spanish speaking ex-pats.

People by nature are very tribal and they will always hang out with people of similar backgrounds and language to themselves.

The Brit.gov is like Germany and other European .govs:
They all see a demographic problem coming towards them with the average age of their citizens rising year on year. This will eventually result in no one left to pay taxes to support vast numbers of pensioners etc.

In addition to that is the mental disease of International Socialism supported by the likes of Soros (and many others) who want a world of brown people, not whites or blacks. Thus they are imposing immigration onto us whites to force the issue.

All this does is create a lowering of average standards across the global community to the detriment of whites (I include all whites here, including those from Russia and the "old" Yugoslavia countries who I see as very similar people to Western Europeans, unlike Arabs and Africans).

sidebar: 18 months ago I had my bathroom and kitchen completely gutted and refitted in my London home and the work was carried out by two guys. One was from West Ukraine and is married to a Russian woman and his work-partner came from East Ukraine. They both got on very well and both speak good English.
Their work was of such good quality that I gave them a wadge of cash as a bonus.

Islamic migrants cannot cohabitate with Christians... it is against their religion, "...make war on the leaders of unbelief...Make war on them: God will chastise them at your hands and humble them. He will grant you victory over them..." (Surah 9:12-). They are going to Europe and North America as a conquering army. They know it, the elite know it, and those hoi polloi that are aware know it... the rest are lambs to the slaughter.

Flip it over and it's a map for where to go for holidays.

Regarding their self segregation. You are right and this is the entirely foreseeable result of bringing savages in by the busload and giving them welfare.

If they were brought in by the family after being vetted, they would integrate better - just like they had for example in Canada since I was a boy in the 70s. But we all know that this is all being done purposefully. There's no need to speculate. This is weaponized replacement.

Using the word 'refugee' in this context is largely a misnomer. Most are economic migrants seeking better lives in European welfare states, only a minority genuine refugees.

This illustration is helpful because it goes some way towards illustrating the origins of the people arriving in Europe, thus making it slightly easier to guess the ratio of genuine refugees to economic migrants:
