This Is What Modern War Propaganda Looks Like

Authored by Caitlin Johnstone via Medium.com,

I’ve been noticing videos going viral the last few days, some with millions of views, about Muslim women bravely fighting to free themselves from oppression in the Middle East. The videos, curiously, are being shared enthusiastically by many Republicans and pro-Israel hawks, who aren’t traditionally the sort of crowd you see rallying to support the civil rights of Muslims. What’s up with that?

Well, you may want to sit down for this shocker, but it turns out that they happen to be women from a nation that the US war machine is currently escalating operations against. They are Iranian.

Whenever you see the sudden emergence of an attractive media campaign that is sympathetic to the plight of civilians in a resource-rich nation unaligned with the western empire, you are seeing propaganda. When that nation is surrounded by other nations with similar human rights transgressions and yet those transgressions are ignored by that same media campaign, you are most certainly seeing propaganda. When that nation just so happens to already be the target of starvation sanctions and escalated covert CIA ops, you can bet the farm that you are seeing propaganda.

Back in December a memo was leaked from inside the Trump administration showing how then-Secretary of State, DC neophyte Rex Tillerson, was coached on how the US empire uses human rights as a pretense on which to attack and undermine noncompliant governments. Politico reports:

The May 17 memo reads like a crash course for a businessman-turned-diplomat, and its conclusion offers a starkly realist vision: that the U.S. should use human rights as a club against its adversaries, like Iran, China and North Korea, while giving a pass to repressive allies like the Philippines, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

“Allies should be treated differently — and better — than adversaries. Otherwise, we end up with more adversaries, and fewer allies,” argued the memo, written by Tillerson’s influential policy aide, Brian Hook.

The propaganda machine doesn’t operate any differently from the State Department, since they serve the same establishment. US ally Saudi Arabia is celebrated by the mass media for “liberal reform” in allowing women to drive despite hard evidence that those “reforms” are barely surface-level cosmetics to present a pretty face to the western world, but Iranian women, who have been able to drive for years, are painted as uniquely oppressed. Iran is condemned by establishment war whores for the flaws in its democratic process, while Saudi Arabia, an actual monarchy, goes completely unscrutinized.

This is because the US-centralized power establishment, which has never at any point in its history cared about human rights, plans on effecting regime change in Iran by any means necessary. Should those means necessitate a potentially controversial degree of direct military engagement, the empire needs to make sure it retains control of the narrative.

This is what war propaganda looks like in the era of social media. It will never look ugly. It will never directly show you its real intentions. If it did, it wouldn’t work. It can’t just come right out and say “Hey we need to do horrible, evil things to the people in this country on the other side of the world in your name using your resources, please play along without making a fuss.” It will necessarily look fresh and fun and rebellious. It will look appealing. It will look sexy.

And it’s working. I am currently getting tagged in these videos multiple times a day by Trump supporters who are eager to show me proof that I’m on the wrong side of the Iran issue; the psyop is so well-lubricated with a combination of sleek presentation and confirmation bias that it slides right past their skepticism and becomes accepted as fact, even the one with the Now This pussyhat propaganda logo in the corner.

Be less trusting of these monsters, please. The people of Afghanistan haven’t benefitted from the interminable military quagmire that has cost tens of thousands of their lives. The invaders of Iraq were never “greeted as liberators” by an oppressed population. The humanitarian intervention in Libya left a humanitarian catastrophe in its wake far more horrific than anything it claimed to be trying to prevent. Saving the children of Syria with western interventionism has left half a million Syrians dead.

If the Iranians do in fact wish to change their government, it should happen without crippling sanctions, collaboration with extremist terror cults, or the rapey tentacles of the CIA manipulating the situation. There has never been a US-led regime change in the Middle East that wasn’t disastrous. People should be screaming at the US and its allies to cease these interventions, not applauding propaganda that is clearly being manufactured by that same empire.

Ignatius: "Secular" government is a myth.

Everything created by humans are myths. Look at ancient Greece. Look at the Jewish, Christian, and Islamic bibles. Look at the Deep-State and MAGA. Is there any ‘major’ difference? Not really, right?

Actually, MAGA might, most likely will, start WW-3 sooner than the Deep-State.

Which of these three countries has NOT attacked America in the last 50 years?  Saudi Arabia, Israel, or Iran?

Which one of these is not our "ally?"

While we may treat our "allies" better than our enemies it seems that our "enemies" treat us better than our "allies."

Of the two muslim countries I listed which one beheads more people every year? Which is our "ally."

Of the two muslim countries I listed which one just allowed women to drive and which one has allowed them to for decades? Which is our "ally."

Are you getting a clue yet?

Iran attacks the US every day. Their proxies and the terrorists they train and arm attack us and our interests and allies every day.

Israel has never knowingly attacked the US (Please dont hand me that bullshit USS Liberty story again) and it is not manifest that the rulers of Saudi Arabia were behind 9/11, merely that Saudi Extremists under the tutelage of an exiled madman were.

We overlook all sorts of ills to partner with countries all the time. That is the nature of geopolitics. At least MBS has a vision to turn Saudi Arabia into something other than a petroshithole that will cease to exist the day its reserves run dry or the world finally evolves away from oil. Iran seeks to move ever backward, run by Luddite, murderous theologicarchs who spend their nation’s patrimony sowing hate, death and discord through the world.

There are some moral absolutes in the world. Even under Trump. We are still on the right side of them. Freedom, individual rights, no religion in government, these are a good place to start. SA is slowly moving in that direction under a man who sees the bleak future of a repressed country with no future depending on oil and religious fundamentalism.

Get Russia and Russian arms out of the Middle East. Stop providing spares for their planes and weapons. Peace would break out in a single generation.

Let's see.  You are between 30 and 50 years old, have a household income over $80K, and have a masters' degree in a field that doesn't require strong math skills (drawing flow charts doesn't count).  You speak no foreign languages except Yiddish/Hebrew and have never bothered to read a primary historical source or work of foreign literature.  The cure for that brain rot you've been noticing is to Get Out More.  I suggest hitting the road and driving to California and back going through Wyoming/Montana one direction and Arizona/New Mexico/Colorado on the other.  You need to stay in cheap motels, stop at truck stops, and talk to the truckers and waitresses.  You should also try subscribing to a couple of news feeds from India and Hong Kong.  That will get you some international perspective without taxing your language skills.

You know what they say about brain cells -- use 'em or lose 'em.  Get out and expand your mind before it's too late!

The human brain adapted us to stay alive in a world in which almost all of the animal life survives by eating other life, much of it other animal life, and in which every species must compete for territory, resources, and mates--including (and perhaps especially) with members of its own species.

It's not a utopian world because...it's not a utopian world. Not because the wiring of the human brain brain made life somewhat challenging. Presumably, it was God who made the world as it is (decidedly warty, from a human perspective)--and looked upon it and said that it was good.

A realistic utopia, for the most part, is possible for about 20% of the population, especially the top 5%. These same percentages can be found here, at ZH, likely.

Anyway, then, the issue that these 20% face is how to create artificial happiness. The Jewish leaders found ‘created’ it around religion, top-down order to hold back people; and, that the Christians and Muslins ‘intelligentsia’ copied, actually, distorted the original ‘top-down order’ scriptures, especially the Christians.

The brain has endless potential, but the real world has limited resources, so what is left for the left and right intelligentsia is cunning, deceiving, and distracting. However, for some percentage of the bottom 80% that becomes a problem, after all, they want to keep up with the joneses, intelligentsia; however, they keep falling behind intelligentsia.

The other issue is the meaning of life. Of the bottom 80%, vast majority goes, and that many believe, with the idea of suffering here doesn’t matter, because it will buy them eternal life after death, meaning life here is meaningless.

However, for the intelligentsia (20%), there’s no meaning to life, so, make it the best you can do here.

The problem for them now becomes the minority of the 80%. And that is the crisis now. And that minority will only grow.

While there will be less and less resources.

Well-written article.  Lucky for Wizards very few people will ever find it.  Eliminates at least 10% of our core secret knowledge advantage.  But the fun stuff is planting the BOMBS in social consciousness.  The delivery system works even better when accompanied by certain techniques.

There aren't enough in the minority of the 80% to overthrow Our Masters unless we fight smart.

The Iranian Parliament building is a pyramid with exactly 33 Windows.  Hard to believe those guys are not freemasons. Still the Jews want them gone, and Trump is about to meet Putin, the one guy propping up the Mad Mullahs.  A little deal, and wala...regime change in Iran. Lift sanctions on Russia.  You heard it here first.

Progressivism and the belief in the secular state is as much a religion as is Catholicism or Buddhism. Progressivism purports that evolution of the central state is linier and that if we simply get on board with the stated agenda we will reach perfection.  It overlooks the fact of peak complexity and the resulting devolution.  The long struggle in the Soviet Union was to complete the Communist takeover of the entire system.  The closer they came to that objective, the closer they came to collapse.  The central planners collapsed the system.  The purges of the progressives have proven to be exponentially worse than the inquisition.

Your first four sentences are entirely true.  The fifth not entirely false.  Your summation, however, is absurd in its falsity.  Clearly you don't remember the Inquisition.  It's just a bogeyman twice removed: initially invoked by the Protestant historians who themselves had never experienced it (the Inquisition was formed to prosecute Catholic heretics three centuries before their time), then repeated by rote by the very Progressives that you despise.  Your understanding of the real thing behind the conditioned reflex is non-existent.  American progressives haven't the balls, the spines, or the imagination to commit the sins of the Inquisition. Russian Communists, cultural heirs of the Mongols and Byzantines, were in another league entirely.

So if someone putting strict sanctions on the US and bombing it would kill 10 million Americans, half of them children, create anarchy and civil war, result in a GDP loss of over 90%, and a vast destruction of infrastructure, but I promised you to get rid of the Supreme Court Black Robe Priests who profess to read the entrails of the Constitution to impose their religious (satanic) values on us, you'd be all in?

Or is mass murder and destruction only suited for others who have values imposed from "above"?

As least the mullahs are using values from an actual document, not mystically reading entrails, like the Black Robes do.

Well Iran was the most democratic of the muslim nations. They caught on pretty fast that "democratic freedom" meant being infiltrated by jews and their "lobbies". So the people asked the mullahs to take over... how's that working out?

Well they're the only nation that's not run by jews to some extent. Iran certainly isn't being hollowed out from the inside like the U.S is. MAGA = keep giving to the jews. Fuck, the goyim are stupid.

the goyim have no clue who is controlling their destiny. how could they even fight this boogeyman?

and how could they defeat a superior foe. admit one fuking thing once and for all, they are winning right now, if winning is defined as fuking over the majority....

as for women wanting to be equal, go for it baby, but be careful what you wish for, cause a well built male might just grab your pussy anyways. but for sure, getting that rag off your head reveals two things, beauty and a potential evil bitch...

It ain’t the Jews who are hollowing out the US. It is the invasion of brown people from the South, coupled with the shit tsunami from Africa, that threatens the US. The goyim are stupid, in that they repeat the same mistakes, endlessly in a loop.

Rather than claim the spoils of victory, the US spent its patrimony rebuilding its ruined enemies first, time and again. The Marshall Plan and the Iraq reconstruction drained how many trillions from the US Treasury? And why did the US not claim reparations from Germany and Italy, and repayment from Europe for its military intervention on their behalf? The Russians certainly did. They simply took over Eastern Europe and drained its resources and blood for forty years, giving them nothing but pain and toil in exchange. While West Berlin grew fat, prosperous and happy on US dollars and support, East Berlin grew grey, starved and desperate under Soviet love, as all resources and revenue went to the Soviet state to pay for their repressive regimes and their arms war with the West. It was the “Good Christians” of Russia who imposed this horror on Eastern Europe, not the Jews, who fled again in terror, as they always do, knowing that they will become the straw man for the tyrant, the eternal excuse for rape and pillage. (The Russian cries out in pain that it is the Jew raping you as he plunders your rectum with his staff of White Christian Righteousness.)

The “lobbies” of the “Jews” you speak of are what? Voices for liberation and the end of repression and the spread of the gospel of hate, death and doom? To allow the Iranian people to remember their history of enlightenment and their rightful place as a major power at peace with their neighbors, trading freely with the world, continuing the education of their people and the evolution away from the Ancient death cult and its endless circle of destruction and devolution back to nomadic tribes of bandits wreaking terror and havoc on the peoples of the desert? God forbid. Or at least whomever purports to speak for God these days.
