NATO Leaders Hold Unplanned Emergency Session After Trump Threatens To Withdraw

The last day of the NATO leaders' summit has started off just as dramatically as the first one, when Trump accused Germany of being a "captive of Russia" due to Merkel's imports of Russian gas and her unwillingness to scrap the Nord Stream gas pipeline as Trump has demanded.

According to media reports, one day after Trump repeatedly slammed NATO, demanding that the alliance must "pay 2% of GDP IMMEDIATELY"...

... while also setting a new target of 4% which should also be hit, German dpa news agency reported that President Trump had threatened to pull the U.S. out of NATO if its allies do not "immediately" increase defense spending.

This appears to have had an immediate effect, because just minutes later, in what Bloomberg dubbed an "unexpected twist", NATO leaders held an unscheduled meeting to discuss the alliance budget this morning.

One of the officials said the meeting takes place against the backdrop of Trump threatening allies to “go it alone” unless if they agree to increase their defense budget immediately. A White House spokeswoman wasn’t immediately available to comment.

The question of NATO spending is clearly prevalent, and as Bloomberg further adds, Trump used his session with Ukraine and Georgia to return to the question of NATO members’ defense spending and used a “harsher” tone than yesterday.

He targeted Germany in particular and referred to “Angela” more than once, saying something to the effect that she can do more. He also apparently referred to the cost of the new NATO headquarters.

As a result of this twist, Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called a session of the NATO leaders.

Meanwhile, as he often does, Trump took his NATO attack directly to the people, tweeted early on Thursday that “billions of additional dollars are being spent by NATO countries since my visit last year, at my request, but it isn’t nearly enough,”

He also tweeted. "Presidents have been trying unsuccessfully for years to get Germany and other rich NATO Nations to pay more toward their protection from Russia. They pay only a fraction of their cost. The U.S. pays tens of Billions of Dollars too much to subsidize Europe, and loses Big on Trade!"

He then echoed his statement from yesterday: "Germany just started paying Russia, the country they want protection from, Billions of Dollars for their Energy needs coming out of a new pipeline from Russia. Not acceptable! All NATO Nations must meet their 2% commitment, and that must ultimately go to 4%!"

Perhaps Trump's highly unorthodox measures just may be successful in stimulating NATO member states to finally spend as much as required. Alternatively, NATO may be on the verge of dissolution, bringing some more smiles to the Kremlin.

My President!

First let me say "FUCK YOU" to all of you single issue Jew haters who have ruined this once fine forum by injecting your stupefyingly narrow disinformation campaign here.

Secondly let me say thank you to Donald J. Trump who will be remembered as the leading figure in the fight against globalist tyranny for centuries to come.

Are our leaders all insane? NATO is now obviously an offensive military organisation and there is no reason to keep it as there is no existential threat with the potential to conquer Europe (apart from the millions of illegal immigrants which NATO members keep trying to force  their own countries to accept). Why not wind it up? Why not get rid of weapons of mass destruction? Why not step away from military posturing and build a strong peace intead?

How does one deal with the insane?

- Pretend to listen, understand and accept his position. Let him rant. DO NOT CONTRADICT HIM.

- Make sure he has no sharp objects to hand to hurt others or himself.

- If necessary restrain him, but in any case ISOLATE him.

The NATO leaders must be very relieved to see the back of Trump. Judging by his impromptu press conference, pretending to be the world's CEO, guarded by his minders Pompeo and Bolton (some pair), while spouting totally self aggrandizing nonsense, they certainly have noted the end of NATO as we know it. Commitments to the insane have no validity!

Putin will know exactly how to handle him, giving his ego all the stroking it needs.

What a show, what a joke!

The USA has reassured the world yet again of its irrelevance and its isolation. Now the grown ups know they will have to clean up the mess on their own.

One flew over the coo-coo's nest.....

It’s about time the Euro sissies “clean up the mess on their own” !

That was the WHOLE POINT of the NATO meetings, you twit.

NATO IS A Cold War construct, which has no strategic use.

The conundrum is that the Euros have no money, no will, and no military to defend themselves. They need a free ride courtesy of the American tax payer. Trump simply made the point public... and the Euro sissieshave the nerve to complain about their own failures!

If Russia is so “bad” then why is Germany paying for a gas pipeline from Russia?!?  Answer:  MUH RUSSIA is a cabalist lie.

Cannot fund “social” democracies and militaries at the same time. Europe is already bankrupt and with no economic growth.

Non/nicht mehr/No mas... whether the Sissies over there like it or not.

US cannot abandon Nato. US IS Nato. Nato IS US. Nato is THE US tool of aggression. Without Nato, US has no formal justification to stay in Europe.

US has  no choice. Europe just has to lean back and watch Trump gnash his exoscelettal mandibles. Nothing, absolutely ZERO, nada, niente, rien, nanimo nai - will happen.

Friends become enemies and enemies become friends over time.   Think Japan for an example.  Of course the US can leave NATO.  If Russia and US become friends then what is the need for NATO?   And that is not a ridiculous question unless of course your turn a blind eye on history or you can not think for yourself and rely on Social Media Group Think.

Obviously you didn't get the part where NATO has always been a tool for ensuring the Corporation's hegemony in Europe. It was first the OSS, and all the three letter alphabet soup of agencies starting popping into existence. The Corporation serves a very select groups of people, and these people have been playing all sides against each other. Every international institutions that were created in the post Breton Woods era only served one purpose- To institute, enforce, and protect the interests of the Corporation.

Now the veil is slowly being lifted, and other civilizations are starting to rise up. Anyone who read the clash of civilizations knows what is going on.

There is a battle going on right now at a really high level, some oligarchs that used to wield power will no longer do by the time the battle ends. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss...

Yes, the veil is being lifted, or torn off by the succession of coarse presidential tweets that make it clear Trump is willing to see the old order break down immediately, or in the wake of dissension caused by his withdrawal of support from G7, NATO, WTO and the other globalizing elite-driven NWO institutions.

You are exactly right that Huntington's Clash of Civilizations is key to understanding the drama playing out over the last two decades. He didn't see everything, but he laid out the playbook that globalist chose to ignore, in favor of their Great Game and ideological PNAC neoconservatism. Sam Huntington was not an ideologue, he was a political philosopher and did not suffer the agency problem (Taleb's notion that you're biased by your investment). Which is why his work was generally on point and prescient.

(Brzezinski was a Ukrainian nationalist Russophobe, before we knew what that was, a dedicated ideologue that steered the country wrong for 40 years, yet also a colleague of Huntington's at Harvard, in Carter's cabinet, and as a rival advisor to presidents into the 90's).  use the hashtag #ClashofCivilizations all the time on twitter now. I want people to re-read that book as its telling today's story.

" Trump is willing to see the old order break down immediately, "

And as a total sociopath and egotist, propped up by none other than the very same NWO alphabet soup institutionalists, such as Pompeo and Bolton, his minders at his last press conference at NATO, and the (((bankers))) behind the curtain, he has absolutely nothing in terms of shared interests or values to contribute to the vacuum being created in the world.

A mad hatter's tea party. But, breaking all the crockery, and borrowing to start again is a plan that might just suit the same bankers. After all they are in deep doodoo right now, arn't they?

Follow the money!

Yes, and NATO or a realistic equivalent for European defense can leave the US.

And by the way, international diplomacy has never had anything to do with "friends" but everything to do with communication of national interests and expediencies. And yes, peace requires the compromise of national interests on all sides to establish shared interests, trade being one of such shared interests and the cement that holds nations together, meaning that 1+1 equals more than 2 and that sometimes the partition of the fractional benefit is not equally divided, it becomes a relative sum.

I'm so tired of one dimensional shows as reflected in this last NATO summit or the expectations from Putin-Trump in Helsinki.

Do they (tptb) really think people are that simple, stupid or gullible.

FUCK the US and take your chubby hamburger-chewing bitch-soldiers back to your pigsty. You have overstayed your welcome pretty much everywhere in the world.

And take back your fucking dollars while we are at it.

Now fuck off and have your nice little Civil War 2.0 soon please.

So say you. What is funny is if anyone of you euro homos were given free immediate US citizenship you would be wrapped in the American flag faster than you can sip a latte under the cover of the US military. Europe had brought us the man purse, trans genders, windmills and gay bicycle helmets. The US has pretty much developed everything else. We are winners. You are pussies. Not to worry, we can wait to leave.

Ah what do we have here? Somebody didn't drink their soylent this morning.

Gladly. Our military should be immediately removed from every foreign country. I think you'd be surprised at how many Americans support that idea.  Never-mind the fact that the USA, like much of Europe has a government that by and large hasn't represented its interests or will for generations.

You all don't deserve our protection. You've failed to protect your people from a hostile wave of muslim immigrants. Your governments prosecute you for pointing it out. You all are governed by insane communists who hate you and your cultures. They are actively destroying your countries from within and you dumb fucks just sit there and pretend it is not happening.

At least here we've had an awakening of sorts.  Trump is an anomaly. Thank God for him and The Cunt losing.

He's the first politician I've ever seen that is doing things to benefit heritage Americans.  If you don't understand what those things are or why he's different then that is a sure sign of your bias and or ignorance.

And get this: The majority of White people in the USA support him.

If you're White and you don't, I'd advise you to listen to the non-White leadership of the D party and figure out that they don't want you.  Lee Kwan Yew was right "In multiracial societies, you don't vote in accordance with your economic interests and social interests, you vote in accordance with race and religion".

In the CWII, your skin is your uniform. People who fail to note this fact probably won't survive long.

Nonetheless, I'm not tired of winning. The USA pulling out of Nato is the first step to ending the empire built by the neocons and the socialists that have been running our country.  DJT is ending the free trade ripoffs. He's ending the NATO ripoff.

Next he'll be closing the border to the immivasion. Maybe even mass deportations -- one can hope.

We won't be coming to save your pansy asses next time either.

Best of luck to you and don't forget to bow to Mecca.

Trumpstein is fighting globalist tyranny how exactly?  NATO was a USA invention and a corner stone of US defense policy for like 60 years,  to have Trumpstein pretend to suddenly withdraw from the alliance so his joo loving supporters can come in their jeans is really not the basis of a foreign policy..

And who the fuck is Trumpstein to say where the germans can buy gas from ?  What a joke,  bullying and blustering my work in WWF but in diplomacy its a non starter.
