'Perpetual War' Explained In 140 Seconds

In 1935, Major General Smedley Butler warned the world that "War is a racket. It always has been..."

"It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives."

And we ignored it.

26 years later, in 1961, President Dwight Eisenhower -  a retired five-star Army general -  gave the nation a dire warning about what he described as a threat to democratic government. He called it the military-industrial complex, a formidable union of defense contractors and the armed forces.

"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists, and will persist."

In his remarks, Eisenhower also explained how the situation had developed:

"Until the latest of our world conflicts, the United States had no armaments industry. American makers of ploughshares could, with time and as required, make swords as well. But we can no longer risk emergency improvisation of national defense; we have been compelled to create a permanent armaments industry of vast proportions."

57 years after that, we see exactly what they warned about... and as far as we can tell, only Ron and Rand Paul remain to argue against 'war' - even though President Trump talks of 'peace', the bombing continues - and so here we are today, beholden to the US war machine...

Currency Wars?  Same as it ever Weimar was.

Don't let past history cloud your judgement. That's exactly what the scumbag MIC is expecting.

Limited number of resources on planet pretty easy to explain endless wars.  Only so much arable land to feed the people on this earth.  Is it a wonder why rapefugees by the millions will come to places where they will be fed and clothed for free.  Its paradise for those backwards brownie turds. Not to mention most of the drinking water of this planet is found in the Northern Hemisphere

"Only so much arable land to feed the people on this earth.  "

What are you, an idiot? There's plenty of food to feed everyone; we just don't have an economic mechanism by which those poor people have anything to trade for food.

As always, our problem is a lack of brains and not anything else.

Funny you mention this. I was driving to the store for a few things with my Mother earlier.

She got into this usvsthem mindset.

I looked at her and said; " Mom, since when did you become one of them?"

Only YOU decide your fate, and what your aspirations are.

Many people have everything and lose it, including myself. We pick ourselves up, and start over.

I'm even happier now. You find out who your real friends were/are, and it's awesome to build relationships with people you otherwise wouldn't have.

Schools and Colleges have indoctrinated young people for several decades, and the kids are starting to wake up. [I hope]

Yen has yet to meet a very successful person that hasn't lost everything and come back even more successful.

Well, it's hoped that the MIC would have learned something by now that, armies require weapons that work, that they at least, like to utilize, rather than weapons that engineers love.

That being said, the political tornado seems to have been averted though fierce storms still rage. Hopefully, that too will subside under prudent management of political affairs.

Now, our task is done, the rest is left to you all, you're awake now, stay awake, protect your natural rights, reclaim your Republic, rebuild your economy, remoralize your society, rejuvenate your culture, mend your relationships, restore proper education to your offspring, remember your God, and reclaim your awe, wonder, and curiosity.

Every soldier needs rest, and recuperation. I'm off to get mine, not like your regular vacation though, I'm not permitted that luxury, but the kind where you go give report of activities, affairs, and progress or not.

The USA is not the only country on earth, some others also need assistance, and attention needs be paid them too.

So now, if you're a freelancer, maybe you ought to go enjoy your summer, let the paid folks hold the line, you deserve rest too.

Remember the "Greenspan Tactic"? Let errors occur that folks might learn? That's the operational ethos now. We'll be observing, but keeping counsel.

Tis the season of ripening and harvest, gather and conserve like avaricious squirrels, that the fall may not catch you unprepared.

Good luck, God speed, and stay true and courageous, cheers...

Why is it that I make a comment on ZH, like: "if the Deep-State were eliminated somehow, the USA would enter into an economic depression!"  Then a few days later I see my argument writ-larger on ZH???

Hillarys Server Dude-dude Mon, 07/23/2018 - 05:29 Permalink

If you get a comment up early, it'll probably be read by all the great ones who I know at very least occasionally and often regularly read ZH, like Michael Savage, Greg Hunter, Michael Rivero, Infowars people, PCR, X22 Report, Lionel Nation, maybe Steve Bannon and who knows who else.

Everyone who reads the articles likes the comments section so they probably do too.

Alex Jones usually seems to just have a printed copy of the ZH article with no comments on his desk. Infowars people. please print out the ZH comments for him too.

I always seem to jump in late with comments towards the bottom. Some people are really fast. Don't know how they do it.

zh changed its web interface to defaut to oldest last and the pros scramble to get on top.

Clearly many of them are pros and thier sock puppets ready to post.

Protip: Post a blank comment early then go back and edit. If its that important. When it was financial and genuine zh used to have some insiteful posts. Now its wannabes trying to be big shot on web or pros paid to influence.

We are those "million monkeys" that were proffessied (?). Party on.

And Flint, MI still has shitty drinking water.

"Ye shall forge your F-35s into water pipe," sayeth the Lord.

Things are shitty and getting shittier because that's the way our owners/rulers want it.

"War is a racket. It always has been... It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in [men’s] lives." …[there], fixed it for ya.

Men, being disposable, are a free commodity to the MIC which makes war the profitable racket it is. Value men and war becomes obsolete… want to make war obsolete? Value men. Until then - welcome to perpetual war ~

 Looking at the seasonal's from '17.  xau-xag

Looks like it's time for some buying?

Looking at the over extended Yuan, flat euro, strengthening yen, commodities, bonds, and CB jawboning.

Yen likes the carry unwind trade.

 Yen likes the $aud midterm.

  •   Rollover good
  • Jobs numbers good
  • banks limited-higher rates
  • RBA dysfunctional-reliant on outside investment

Shitty leadership, and that about covers it.

Just looking at Iranian capabilities they have 2000km range missiles which brings over 30 major US bases into play including the Navy Central command in Bahrain

The first American republic collapsed at Gettysburg hence the "address" to recognize that reality. America needs to be wound up as a failed project and the states given back their independence.

I don't want to disclose my own personal values and beliefs since I believe action speaks louder than words...

But isn't there a single God-fearing Christian, Jew, Buddhist or Muslim in America?

If this death machine isn't Satan, what is?

But churches, temples and yoga ashrams are too busy saying "Support our troops!"

I say, metaphorically, Fcck our troops.

Here's a quiz.

After Life Magazine did the full page photographic spreads on the My Lai massacre of mothers crying and trying to cover their little girl and boy children with their outstretched arms, and after explaining how 500 women and children were shot in the head, out of 5,000 telegrams to the White House, what percent of the telegrams do you think were in support of Lt Calley?

In support of the guy who shot the crying babies in the head or in the mouth or eye as they glanced up in fear and reached out for their mother?

Please guess.

Forty percent. Can you believe that? Fully forty percent of Americans supported baby killer Calley. 40%. Aren't you ashamed?

Actually, it wasn't 40%.

It was 99%.

In support of Calley, who shot babies had lunch and shot more babies.

How do you even shoot a baby, shoot a child? I can even image how it's done.

What a human turd. And 99% of mother fccking Americans, of which I am one, supported him. Support our troops! Support our troops! Support our troops!

This is the Wiki quote.

Many in the United States were outraged by Calley's sentence. Georgia's Governor, Jimmy Carter, future President of the United States instituted American Fighting Man's Day, and asked Georgians to drive for a week with their lights on. Indiana's Governor Edgar Whitcomb asked that all state flags be flown at half-staff for Calley, and the governors of Utah and Mississippi also publicly disagreed with the verdict. The legislatures of Arkansas, Kansas, Texas, New Jersey, and South Carolina requested clemency for Calley. After the conviction, the White House received over 5,000 telegrams; the ratio was 100 to 1 in favor of leniency.

I say fcck them all. Every last one. May they lick come off the floor of the dungeons of hell.

And Jimmy Carter. May you metaphorically choke on a peanut. Your Southern accent sounds good but it won't get you into heaven. I wish I could be there when Michael, not Barry's partner but the angelic one, stretches out his right arm and turns his thumb down. Depart ye into outer darkness. Accent's nice but I never knew you.

And look at the support for American Sniper. A homosapien who rides cows and goes to the other side of the world and shoots mothers, fathers and children from rooftops.

And says "I can answer to the Lord Jesus Christ for every bullet I shot into a little girl's head."

That's like Berkowitz with the clown costume and the balloon saying "I can account to the Lord Jesus Christ for every severed head in my refrigerator."

You're a sissy boy, nothing but a smell.

This video has me so upset.

Fcck them all.

Paul, please help. Call us insouciant again one last time. I don't know where else to turn.

Absolutely spot on except for one thing: putting Donald Trump in the same category as all of the other Swamp approved, cultivated, and elected Presidents who have gone before him.

The man has been in office for 669 DAYS.  The MIC has been entrenched in the fabric of American politics for well over 80 YEARS!  Why do you think they are trying to DESTROY him??

Great 129 seconds.  The last 11 ruined destroyed them.  Just another cleverly disguised propaganda piece brought to you courtesy of the Swamp.

66Mustanggirl Mon, 07/23/2018 - 05:28 Permalink

Oh, and BTW.....the off the rails HYSTERIA we have witnessed the past 7 days over his meeting with Putin?  Yeah....that was also brought to you courtesy of the MIC and the Swamp because their “racket” goes to hell if Russia isn’t on stage as the world’s big, bad boogeyman.

So there is the proof that Trump is their worst nightmare.

mendigo Mon, 07/23/2018 - 05:33 Permalink

I vaguely remember during the freedom action in kosevo. Clinton bomber the regime into submission. Victory with very few us lives lost. And there were pundits claiming this was a new form of warfare enabled by technology. Now its that combine with support from local rebels - again very limited loss of us lives. Maybe next will be unmanned conflict.

So evil. And yet done for purpose of zionism/religion? No, I think we do it for money and because we can.

Is the military really to blame or are they just the ignorant dogs of war?
