The Digital Dark Age is Here

The Digital Dark Age is Here

Written by Nathan McDonald, Sprott Money News

For years I have warned about this, for years I have stated that these companies are not to be trusted, that they are listening to your every movement and tracking you in real time, selling your information to the highest bidder.

For years, people scoffed at this idea, they laughed it off, until recently.

People were outraged to hear that Facebook and other social media giants were indeed selling your information, they were gathering, collecting and packaging it to ad sponsors, but why were they shocked? Why couldn't they see the reality that was clearly in front of their eyes?

Because ignorance is bliss.

We live in interesting times indeed, times that are both exciting and precarious. We stand on a precipice of either great change, innovation and new levels of achievement, or we stand on the edge of complete and utter darkness.

Sadly, people are not standing up, they are not voting with their dollars and they are blissfully ignoring the ensnaring net that is slowly being drawn around them.

The digital dark age is here, and the elite few tech giants that are ushering it in are beginning their attack on anyone, anything that does not agree with their echo chamber of thought.

A small handful of companies, you know their names well, virtually control a massive part of our society now. They have near complete control over many aspects of your lives, and don't for a second think that they don't.

The vast majority of people in the West use some form of social media on a regular basis, whether it be Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google plus or Youtube. Yet these companies all hail from one small, pocket of the world, resulting in an incredibly narrow train of thought, and diversity.

These companies executives know each other, they meet socially and undoubtedly they discuss the future of the internet and how they can best shape it moving forward in their vision.

This is an incredibly frightening occurrence of events, as we the people have literally handed them dominance over our virtual social lives, an aspect of society that can now dictate whether or not you get a job, are successful, or fail in a key aspect of our lives.

Like it or not, the internet is a massive part of society and will likely become increasingly more so as we move forward into the future.

Over this past week, we have witnessed the first virtual execution of our times.

Alex Jones, the controversial, yet very popular conspiracy theorist and owner of Infowars, was their target and the verdict was absolute . He had to be, and he was destroyed.

Don't for a second think that I agree with all of his nonsense, nor do I like him, but what I do like is the free market, free speech and a free society. This week we lost that.

Collectively, they banned and deleted all of his accounts, all of his pages, in which he had millions of followers, in a series of virtual head-shots, wiping him off the internet, stating that he violated their "terms of service".

Linkedin, a platform where he posted no content, also deleted his account, even though he violated no terms of service, completing his wipe out and truly showing Silicon Valleys true intentions.

Alex Jones, was an easy target for them, but don't for a second think he will be the last. This week also saw a number of social media accounts banned linked to Ron Paul, libertarians and other major conservatives.

Now, rumors are swirling, that one of the largest sites on the internet, the Drudge Report will be next. Then, will it be Zero Hedge, and any other alt media website that doesn't agree absolutely with their train of thought? Who knows, but this should startle and alarm people.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely, and we are now seeing this in real time, once again, as we have many times previously throughout history.

This new found digital power over our lives is something new, and something that has to be resisted. Alternative social media websites, that support free speech and freedom of expression need to be supported, such as Minds and Gab.

This absolute digital power is exactly why I have been railing against the idea of a 100% digital fiat currency for years. The power that this would allow governments over our EVERYDAY lives, not just virtual, would be something out of a Orwellian nightmare and would make what we are seeing today via the social media tech giants look like child's play.

Get out of your comfort zone, stand up for what is right and vote both with your feet and your dollars. No company is too big to fail and no tide too big that it can't be resisted. The fight goes on for liberty, for freedom, as it always has and as it always will from now, until the end of time.

If you want to fight You Tube, attack the local telecoms infrastructure and pin a note of your demands at every site of attack. Splicing fiber cables is expensive. See what truck comes out to fix it and then later attack that truck and so forth. A sustained campaign against the physical network across the country and the pressure to resolve this would flow up to the stinking tech companies. This is what happens when you legislate the social media giants blanket immunity while allowing them to rule over you. When the law is broke, and congress are useless assholes, then you need to bear arms and fight. In this case paper, pen, and a book of matches might be a sufficient weapon.

Destroying your local fiber pairs is as dumb of an idea as chainsawing the power pole in front of your house.

SValley Pricks will not be affected by that one whit. Repair costs go into the local telco rate base and boomerang in your monthly bill.

Take your thinking to the next level.

Lobby your locals to dump Fbook, et al. Wake up every person you meet. That's going down all across the country. Everyone needs to pitch in.

And it Sure beats being Bubba's butt buddy in the joint.

Digital Black Hole

Except all the games are rigged and the votes will be stolen again. We are facing total freedom or total slavery.  Eric Snowden said he came forth because the power of the elites is becoming unstoppable, unopposable. And the sheeple are fighting each other, instead of the elites, again. So yes- it looks like total slavery on the menu.

Yup, yup!  During the fall/winter/spring, the electronic device most used is my 562xp, which is, unfortunately, auto-tuned.  I guess the truck counts as well, it's pretty damn electronic.

I do browse some social-esque forums (a local news site which allows comments, ZH, and another message board) during the summer vacations, but no way in hell would I participate in the ones listed in this article.

Very much agree there 'blueseas'.

However, what occurred this week was fairly unthinkable, back in 1995 through 2005. Not only would they have been boycotted to oblivion back then, they would not have gotten away with a global censorship or gag attempt. At the end of the cold war a lack of censorship was valued as a key ingredient to healthy societies and accountable govts.

This banning fad is another symptom of the deep polarization being incited by provocateurs, particulary of the left v right variety.

There is a palpable sense and conversation going on in western govt security.orgs, that the divisions are being specifically aggressively targeted for accentuation by non-secular and non-democratic states, and NGOs. Particularly as part of operations short of war, by Russia and China. No matter what anyone thinks, that is the extensive conversation that is occurring for the past 4 years, and especially in the past 6 months.

So the censorship of Tech-Co action 'consensus' that we now see may well be part of an internet crackdown, aimed at combatting foreign anti-western political writers/provocateurs/trolls. And zerohedge is certainly one of the major aggregators and pushers of that fodder on the Internet. So I expect these sorts of alt-political sites are near the top of a hitlist.

Too much Wild West, not enough F-Troop.

As a result of many years of over-the-top excesses there's now little effective resistence to a tech censensus of censors taking out the trash.

That also has a darkside, but we've forgotten why, and most people have never known.

Personally, I also welcome clowns like Jones being picked up and unceremoniously thrown bodily out of 'polite' online society. He was in no way a constructive person.

And whether you agree with a person or not, the more important question us, is this person genuinely constructive,  or genuinely destructive to the minds of other people?

"Justice" in a nutshell is this: If you do things that destroy the lives of others, your life will be proportionately destroyed.

Destructively attacking the mind of a person is an attack on their life, and an attack (short of war) on the relationships, society and country they live in.

And when it as flagrant, sustained and global as it has been, especially in the last 5 years, then governments and their security.orgs are going to get involved and start fighting back (short of war).

So, is everyone genuinely net constructive here?

No, not so much.

Alex Jones... the conspiracy theorist... hardly...

He had to retract virtually all his old theories, even Sandy Hook and 9/11...

He's now just a stanch establishment all-worshiping dic-in-his-mouth Trump supporter...  and die-hard anti Arab Zionist mouth piece...

Whatever there was good about InfoWars is long gone...  the entire staff he started out with are gone...  even his wife...  gone

I think he still talks about fluoride in the water...  bfd

When you get 'The Visit' you do anything the visitors tell you to do.

Of course I'm talking the rhetorical 'you', not you you because you're different. ... It must be nice having no family to worry about, no friends you actually care much about, plenty of money set aside, a bevy of free legal types to help keep you out of prison and a magic bullet-proof bubble to live in 24/7.

I figure Alex was a little short of something on that list and had to kick his lot in with the Deep State agenda.

Or he said, "Sure, I'm for sale,....what's your offer?"

I have still been watching Alex Jones on TV. He is too big to be shut down. Others are putting up coverage of him. I have to set up my shortwave receiver as a backup.

I can only assume that the 卐AGS
(卐acebook, 卐Apple卐, 卐oogle, 卐tarbucks) are fully aware that they are making lifelong, fight to the death, enemies. I can only infer that they intend to physically kill us all as their endgame.

This should be a warning to anyone that goes against the radical far left agenda. These people are out of control. We need to band together, we need to make a difference.

Disqus dropped infowars and silenced the public. The public cannot comment on infowars articles. First they came for Alex and now us. We are the resistance. Nullify all trials against patriots.

For everyone stupid enough to subscribe to any alternative site, your name and contact info are in their hands. They don't care what we think. They just want to reduce population and control the world.

If you identify as a "patriot" or the resistance on either "side", then you are playing their game. Think about it. The war is a spiritual war for your soul. How can you retain your soul? How can you lose it? Act accordingly.

Today YouTube announced it was drawing guidelines to ban Climate Change deniers' videos.  Of course, Antifa violence, antisemitic rants, and Islamic propaganda remain undisturbed.  Is this what the "free net" was supposed to be?  Where is the freedom underground?  Where is the tech to get us to a free net where we aren't tracked, folded, spindled, mutilated (all the adjectives used by The Prisoner)?  And if it can't be any other way, are we wrong to confront the nihilist Antifas who want to break the borders and shut the prisons?  Maybe we should just blow it all up as a dream gone nightmare?

>such as Gab

FYI, Microsoft just THREATENED to shut down Gab who is hosted on their Azure cloud service.

These leftists tech giants are impossible to avoid now they have so much power.  Most all of the internet runs on the 3 clouds, of Microsoft's Azure, Googles, or Amazons EC2.   They have the power to pull the plug on your servers at any time.

Almost every content platform now is part of this massive intertwined space controlled by the tech left, even things like Blogspot.com(owned by google) and Disqus.

The only way to get around these guys is to go back to the more expensive days of purchasing your own computer server hardware, putting it in a data center not controlled by a big company and getting your own internet connection.   If you don't own your own servers sitting in a mom-and-pop datacenter you are in-bed with these tech giants in some way and beholden to them.

Oh and how do we exactly get our government to stop running a Trillion $ Deficit? top Spending 785B on the MIC? Stop bombing school busses, destroying cities in Libya, Syria.

We can't and it's by design.

Internet has essentially become irrelevant for finding information since half a year back or so when search engines were limited into merely finding commercial and double plus approved pages ie propaganda.
