Remember America's Stealth Reparations?

In a post earlier this year ("America's Stealth Reparations"), we shared a remarkable thread by "Confirmed Miscer" on X about the COVID-era Payroll Protection Program:

Reparations Already Happened

As we enter Black History Month, we can expect further calls for reparations by the U.S. government to African Americans, but as an extraordinary thread on X this week detailed, we already had reparations for enterprising African Americans during COVID. Many created seemingly fake businesses to get payroll protection loans, nearly all of which apparently were subsequently forgiven.

A Reparations Recipient At The Ole Miss Gaza Protest

It turns out that the adoption of this stealth reparations program must have been even bigger than we thought. Consider the viral confrontation at the University of Mississippi last week, in which graduate student Jaylin Smith walked in front of the barriers separating the pro-Palestinian protestors and the counter protestors.

After the fellow on the right making monkey noises at her was doxxed and kicked out of his fraternity, internet sleuths doxxed Ms. Smith--not that she's a very private person.

It turns out she recently did a TEDx talk.

And before that, she was a recipient of a forgiven PPP loan.

When someone suggested it was unfair of Confirmed Miscer to highlight African American recipients of these forgiven PPP loans, he pointed out the nature of the loans to companies with names such as "Got Money -N- Da Hood Entertainment", "Free Money", and "New Wakanda".

What are the odds Ms. Smith turned out to be another recipient?
