The data comes with a giant caveat: because California announced a two- week pause in the processing of initial claims following the discovery of massive fraud in California's initial claims reports, the Department of Labor published the state’s initial claims for the week prior to the pause in today’s report. As such, when looking at the breakdown by state, there was no notable outliers with California briefly out of the picture.
