As predicted 10 days ago when this blew up, it looks like the US will agree with Denmark
to create numerous new US military bases in Greenland to become US sovereign territory,
like the British military base on Cyprus. It will have unfettered authority to do virtually
what it likes in them. Full authority to mine rare earth minerals included.
No invasion needed and China-loving UK and EU member states are free to FOAD.
IMO, the great risk was for Greenland to become occupied by China which could easily
