How Spirit's Liquidation Impacts U.S. Airlines And Aircraft Lessors

Goldman analysts published a note on Monday morning following Spirit Airlines' late Friday announcement that it would cease operations, pointing out that the shutdown is a net positive for the broader U.S. airline industry while posing limited risk to aircraft lessors.

Analysts led by Catherine O'Brien told clients, "We expect this to be positive for the rest of the US Airline industry, which continues to attempt to pass on significantly higher jet fuel prices via higher fares."
