A Deluge Of Bad Bunny Takes...

One thing a lot of the Bad Bunny takes had in common was they were the same as every other excuse for American decline over the last several decades, essentially: "It's always been like this" when it really hasn't been.

One example of that genre of post was this take, by Hen Mazzig, who compared Bad Bunny to Irving Berlin:

...And A Powerful Smackdown Of One

Will Chamberlain's response to Mazzig was so brutal I had to share it with you here:

I've seen a few of the liberal Zionists taking a line like this, and they really need to stop.

The difference between Irving Berlin and Bad Bunny is dramatic. Berlin wrote God Bless America out of gratitude for the place that took him in - in English. Bad Bunny reframed that sentiment as only being praiseworthy if it included every other country in the Western Hemisphere - a deeply subversive, resentful move, especially given the context of his other anti-American remarks.

You praise this slop which frames America as an unexceptional melting pot, undeserving of any pride or status above its neighbors. I wonder what you would think if a Gazan performed Hatikvah in Arabic - and changed the meaning and context to make clear that his "hope" was the reversal of the Nakba. And what you'd think if this person was invited to perform at halftime of the most-watched Israeli sporting event of the year.

Liberal Zionists would demand respect for the Jewish state's integrity while undermining the American nation-state. That will not do. And for what reason? Do you anticipate the people who call Hamas freedom fighters will suddenly be your friends again? Do you think the people who cried about "genocide" while not bothering to mention the hostages will see the error of their ways if you sing Bad Bunny's praises?

Figure out who your friends are - or soon you might not have any.

Wise words.

Back To Business

Later today, we've got two more trades teed up. One is a bearish bet against Hims & Hers Health (HIMS 0.00%↑). We actually had one teed up on it on Friday, before the headlines hit, but it didn't fill. Looks like there's still plenty of downside from here, and we have an options structure designed to profit from that.

We also have a bullish trade on a Portfolio Armor top name that's poised to benefit from the same GLP-1 drugs HIMS got in trouble with. If you'd like a heads up when we place both trades, you can subscribe to the Portfolio Armor Substack below.
