AI Question: Where’s the money?
Global Intel Hub — Knoxville, TN 6/8/2026 — Only the biggest IPO in history, SpaceX, has given us a pause of the constant barrage of AI news and info, wild claims, controversies, and other tales stuffing our news feeds. After billions in CapEx not only from the hyperscalers but pretty much across the board, where are signs of non-infrastructure profits? Or in other words, where’s the money?
There are wild claims of people making millions using Claude, but when you actually look into it, most are using Polymarket which doesn’t accept US customers. Kalshi, the US version, doesn’t have such an exaggerated leaderboard – why? Sure, the Kalshi Leaderboard does have a few guys making money, but it’s nothing like Polymarket, why?
AI can do lots of things, but where are the sales? Where is the profit? Traders claim to be using it but the actual results are hard to find, at least in the US where you can verify things. The AI hype certainly does resemble several of the Crypto pumps like NFT, or the SH*t coins that go up 100,000% but you can only buy them on these shady exchanges with no legal jurisdictions, just a wallet.
Then there are all these simple things AI just gets wrong, like it can’t print a music note sheet, as experienced by this user.
There are other examples of AI not being able to write the same text you put in the prompt, or overspinning it’s wheels over nothing.
Then there is the dreaded “Now I understand the problem” where Replit, Claude; take 4 or 5 swats at the same issue, finally getting it right.
This is supposed to be a fitness video:
No comment needed on that one. Obviously, there are many strides and AI is making interesting leaps forward.
Checkout Macro Tech Titan’s enterprise grade suite Maximus Content made with Lovable. There are thousands if not millions of examples of cool stuff made with AI. But is the price tag for that hundreds of billions of dollars?
Another thought is that the CapEx is actually flowing somewhere else, like the black budget for defense contracts. Something really doesn’t add up here.

Quick note: AI is useful for simple, fun stuff like writing a quick blog post or making images, scheduling, data operations, etc. We aren’t saying it’s totally useless, just that is it worth all this CapEx?
